The competition was fierce. The games were ridiculous. The laughs were nonstop.

Our Corporate Olympics brought together some of our biggest community partners for a day of winter-themed games on the HOTTEST day last week! Teams gave it their all, cheered each other on, and embraced every silly challenge that came their way.

Thank you to the teams from PeoplesBank, Country Bank, Liberty Bank, MGM Springfield, Adam Quenneville Roofing & Siding, Florence Bank, Monson Savings Bank, and Bacon Wilson, P.C. along with our YMCA staff and Daryl Johnson from Pullman & Comley, LLC for being judges to help make the day soooo much fun!

How can organizations better meet the unique needs of the communities they serve without starting from scratch every time?

Dr. Gregory Todd, Executive Director of M.O.C.H.A. Springfield, part of the YMCA of Greater Springfield, recently presented at the Hampden County Addiction Taskforce (HCAT) monthly meeting, sharing his vision for an adaptable community investigator model that agencies can use as a blueprint for advocacy, resources, outreach, and support.

Recognizing that every community faces different challenges and opportunities, the framework is designed to be flexible, helping organizations investigate solutions to the specific needs of the people they serve.

Come hang out with us at The Big Community Day outside in Tower Square Park from 11 AM–1 PM! 🎉

We'll have free activities, community organizations, health resources, family fun, giveaways, and plenty of opportunities to connect with some amazing local groups making a difference right here in Springfield.

The YMCA of Greater Springfield's Strength in Menopause Program has been selected as a finalist for the 2026 Life Fitness / Hammer Strength Community Impact Awards, and we have a chance to win $2,500 to support this important program.

This program helps women navigate menopause through strength training, education, support, and community. Now we need your vote to help us bring even more women the resources they deserve.

Ready for MORE fun and energy? Yesterday we shared photos from the inaugural SVY Classic Powerlifting Meet. But ever wonder what a powerlifting meet actually feels and sounds like?

Turn the sound up and hit play!

You can definitely see and hear the energy in the gym. Every squat, bench press, and deadlift was met with cheers, encouragement, and people rooting for one another.

It was loud, supportive, and honestly kind of amaaaazing!

What a day!!

The first-ever SVY Classic brought together experienced lifters, first-time competitors, and a crowd that showed up LOUD. Every squat, bench press, and deadlift was met with cheers, encouragement, and support from the sidelines.

We saw personal records fall, first-time competitors step onto the platform with courage, and an incredible 560-pound squat that had the room buzzing.

Huge thanks to Kristen from Titanium Strength for judging and sharing her knowledge with so many new lifters, and to our YMCA staff and volunteers who made the day possible. Special shoutout to Adam and Emma for bringing the vision to life and Glen for keeping the energy high as our MC. Debbie, Stephanie, Dawn, and Emily kept things running smooth!

Congratulations to every athlete who stepped up! You made the first SVY Classic one to remember. 🏋️‍♂️🔥

What a great morning celebrating the YMCA of Greater Springfield and the people who make our mission possible.

At our Annual Meeting of the Members, we looked back on a strong 2025, welcomed new Board members, recognized those completing their service, celebrated our Corporate Gold partners, and shared updates on exciting work happening across the association, from camp programs and Scantic improvements to the life-changing impact of LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA and Parkinson's Power Program.

We also reflected on the YMCA's 175th anniversary and our unique place as the second-oldest YMCA in the United States as we prepare to celebrate our own 175th anniversary next year.

If you've ever wondered what it looks like when a team shows up ready to WORK... here you go!

A volunteer crew from Eastman spent a day all over Camp Weber painting, clearing trails, cleaning pool areas, hauling debris, leaf blowing, and tackling project after project to help get camp ready for summer.

By the end of the day there was fresh paint, cleaner spaces, clearer trails, and one very happy camp staff.

Huge thanks to everyone who came out and made a real difference. Summer is right around the corner, and because of days like this, Camp Weber is looking fabulous!

This Saturday, the weights get heavy and the energy gets loud!
The SVY Classic Powerlifting Meet is taking over the Scantic Valley YMCA and there are still a few spots left if you've been thinking about jumping in.

Not competing? Come cheer on some seriously strong athletes, soak up the atmosphere, and see what powerlifting is all about. Spectators are welcome and encouraged!
