Music has a way of connecting us across cultures, languages, and backgrounds. Here is a great example of that from Sunday's concert: Grupo musical Canela featuring Ernesto! ✨

Canela met Ernesto just last week, Canela visiting from our Mexican sister city of Tlaquepaque and Ernesto a Springfield resident originally from Cuba. Over the next few days, they were making music together like old friends. That’s the power of rhythm, joy, and shared humanity.

That's what Springfield Sister Cities is all about. This fall, Canela will carry that same spirit of unity all the way to our Japanese sister city, bringing three cities together as we celebrate 40 years of friendship.
