PBPA Unit #5 member, Officer Combs' 3-year-old son, Archie, has recently been diagnosed with a Favorable Histology Wilms Tumor, a form of kidney cancer that primarily affects young children. Archie has already undergone surgery, during which the tumor and his left kidney were successfully removed. We are happy to report that he is recovering from surgery amazingly well.
In the coming weeks, Archie will begin a lengthy treatment protocol expected to last 9–12 months, which will include both chemotherapy and radiation treatments. While his family remains optimistic about the outcome, they know there is a long road ahead filled with medical appointments, treatments, and challenges.
We ask that you keep Archie, Officer Combs, and their entire family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Any support, encouragement, and well wishes are greatly appreciated as they navigate the months ahead.
To help ease some of the financial burden associated with treatment, travel, and time away from work, the family has established a GoFundMe campaign. If you are able and willing to contribute, any amount is appreciated and will help support Archie and his family throughout his treatment journey.
