❗️UPDATE 12:32 PM 2/22: Good news! 75% of the AT&T network has been restored, slowly bringing back connectivity across our City! That means the City of Springfield non-emergency line is up and running, along with the Springfield Free WiFi!

❗️UPDATE 11:00 AM 2/22: The City's non-emergency phone number is experiencing intermittent outages along with the Springfield free WiFi. These outages coincide with the nationwide network disruption and is expected to be resolved concurrently.

📞Emergency services and phone lines for all City of Springfield departments are still available. Call 217-789-2000 to reach any City of Springfield department, or dial 911 in case of an emergency. We kindly ask that residents please refrain from calling 911 to inquire about emergency services availability. We will keep you updated on the progress of service restoration through our official channels, including social media platforms, Channel 18 and Channel 4 and our website.

ORGINAL POST:🚨 Nationwide AT&T Outage Alert 🚨

We want to inform you that there is currently a nationwide AT&T outage affecting mobile and internet services, including Springfield citizens. If you're experiencing connectivity issues, rest assured, it's not just your phone!

Additionally, please note that the temporary outage of the Springfield free WiFi service is also related to this larger AT&T issue.

We understand the inconvenience this may cause and assure you that service providers are working diligently to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. Stay tuned for updates.

Wednesday, November 15, 2023, 5:30 p.m. at the new Medics First of Springfield, 200 North Grand Ave West

Join the Oak Ridge Cemetery Foundation in celebrating another productive year, with a firsthand look at the new Medics First facility and a fascinating presentation of The Iconography of Victorian Cemeteries.

The study of the meanings of symbols, in this case on historic cemetery monuments, is called iconography. Join us for a look at the circumstances that produced some of the most expressive and emotional stone carving in North America, including many examples from Oak Ridge, and learn what some of it can tell you. Presenter Guy Sternberg, a founding board member of the Oak Ridge Cemetery Foundation, has been studying historic cemeteries for decades and has presented programs about cemeteries and their trees and symbols for the US National Park Service, the Illinois State Museum, and many interest groups.

A light supper is included. The event is free, but please email [email protected] to reserve a seat.
