šŸŽ¶Special homeschool offer from a local piano teacher! šŸŽ¶

Hello there! My name is Debbie Ferguson and I own & teach piano full-time at PianoBuzz Studios in Springfield. Nice to "meet" you:)

I’ve created a unique piano lesson program called ā€œPower Piano!ā€ that I would love to share with the homeschool community.

Each lesson is designed to encourage independence, focus, listening, direction-following and social skills while fostering a love for creating music at the piano (along with having fun, of course!).

Here are some basics about piano lessons with me:

- I now offer online lessons on Zoom and in-person lessons at The Music Shoppe (Springfield)
- Ages 6 through adult (5 year olds accepted on individual basis)
- Morning & early-mid afternoon lesson spots available
- Special homeschool rate of $82/month for one student for morning/afternoon lessons
- Sibling rate of $76/month for each additional family member
- Annual Music, Materials & Technology Fee of $25-40 per student, depending on age. This covers the cost of everything your child will need for piano lessons through May 2021: music binder (ages 7+), music book, theory book, extra handouts, use of studio tablets, incentive rewards, full home subscription to hundreds of additional songs and arrangements with the Supersonics Plus program and full home subscription to Piano Maestro by JoyTunes.
- Weekly 60-minute lessons for ages 7+
- Weekly 30-minute lessons for ages 5-6

If you’d like more info or would like to schedule a free, no-strings-attached first lesson, let’s chat!

I help kids and adults learn to love playing piano, and it’d be my privilege to meet you and see if piano is something that you or you kids would enjoy!

Play on! šŸ™‚

PianoBuzz Studios engages kids and adults with exciting, non-traditional piano lessons. Unusually upbeat lessons with extraordinary results.

Hi all! We have so many new families interested in homeschooling right now, I’d like to ask that you post a link or 2 to your favorite homeschool curriculum or resource website.

When we first began homeschooling, I found it necessary to go through a mind shift phase for all of us. Rather than just repeating what was happening at public school at home, we embraced a new kind of learning. Learning that happens naturally, around the clock. As we embraced the love of learning and found the children’s individual interests/strengths/weaknesses, we added in the more structured curriculums around each child’s needs & interests.

Here’s my personal favorite:

AmblesideOnline is a free homeschool curriculum that uses Charlotte Mason's classically-based principles to prepare children for a life of rich relationships with everything around them: God, humanity, and the natural world. Our detailed schedules, time-tested methods, and extensive teacher resource...

UPDATE: Schools are starting to use the phrase "utilizing PPE" instead of "Masks".
With the Governor addressing the re-opening of the state and several Illinois state school districts discussing opening guidelines many are looking to homeschool.
Look over the topic posts on this page and many of your questions will be answered. Each post provides information regarding home education. Need more assistance? Schedule a phone consultation with a representative of Illinois Homeschool. We are just a PM away.

Hi friends! I’m just checking in and seeing a lot of ā€œunseenā€ visitor posts. I feel so bad that you haven’t gotten a response, but it’s just because of the format of this ā€œpageā€ vs the ā€œgroupā€. If you’ve posted here and not gotten a response, my suggestion is to join the Springfield IL home educators group. In the group, everyone’s posts are seen equally. Best wishes on your homeschool journey!!
