For nearly two decades, Dr. Geoffrey Gill has provided care for women throughout every stage of life — from adolescence to menopause and beyond. As an OB/GYN at Women’s Care, he believes the foundation of medicine is built on trust, connection, and relationships that span generations.
From caring for multiple members of the same families to supporting patients through some of life’s most meaningful and difficult moments, Dr. Gill considers the opportunity to care for patients and their loved ones a true privilege. ❤️
“People remember how you treat them on their worst days even more than they remember the day they have their baby,” he says. “That’s a tremendous responsibility and a real privilege.”
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Gill is also a champion for physician wellness, sharing his own experience seeking support and encouraging others to recognize that asking for help is an important part of caring for themselves and their patients.

A few weeks ago, LCMS staff attended the American Association of Medical Society Executives (AAMSE) Annual Conference in Louisville, KY, joining medical society leaders from across the country to share ideas, challenges, and innovative approaches to supporting physicians and their communities.
During the conference, LCMS gave a presentation on Project 52: 52 Meetings with 52 Physicians in 52 Weeks, highlighting how intentional conversations with members have strengthened relationships, shaped programming, and helped us better understand the needs of our physician community. 👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️✨
LCMS was also honored with a Profile of Excellence in Communications Award for Medical Matters, recognizing our commitment to creating meaningful content that highlights our members, shares community resources, and connects physicians across Lane County. 📰💙
These recognitions reflect the creativity, collaboration, and dedication of our members, partners, and team. We’re proud to continue expanding our impact and finding new ways to support the physicians who care for our community. ❤️

As a pediatrician, physician informaticist, and LCMS board member, Dr. Miranda Lanning is using technology to help physicians reconnect with what matters most: their patients.
From improving electronic health record workflows to using AI powered ambient listening technology, she’s helping physicians spend less time documenting and more time listening, connecting, and caring for the people in front of them. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦✨
“If we can reduce friction in our systems, we create more space to focus on the patient sitting in front of us.”
For Dr. Lanning, informatics is about designing systems that support physicians, strengthen patient relationships, and give them back space for the art of medicine. ❤️

As Medical Director of , Dr. Corey Rood works alongside children and families navigating some of life’s most difficult moments through trauma-informed care, advocacy, and compassion.
A board-certified child abuse pediatrician, he helps provide medical evaluations, mental health support, and advocacy services for children experiencing abuse, neglect, or violence — ensuring children feel safe, heard, and supported throughout the process. 🩺💙
“Each of our patients has a story, and those experiences may be affecting their willingness to talk, open up, and share the truth.”
His story is a reminder that trauma-informed care and physician wellness often go hand in hand — because in order to care for others, physicians must also learn to care for themselves.

🌹✨ 𝐀 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 ✨🌹
One month ago, LCMS hosted our third biennial fundraising gala benefitting the Physician Wellness Program themed around a Derby Soirée. It brought together physicians, community partners, and supporters in celebration of physician wellness.
Guests enjoyed derby attire, simulated horse races, time with colleagues and friends, and a lively auction featuring generous donations from local businesses throughout Lane County.
Together, we raised approximately $46,000 to help sustain the Physician Wellness Program (PWP), a confidential mental health initiative providing Lane County physicians with up to six free counseling sessions annually.

🚑🎬 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐈𝐭 𝐔𝐩 𝐁𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐩 🎬🚑
Last week, a screening of Suck It Up Buttercup brought together physicians, community members, and advocates for conversations surrounding corporate medicine and private equity in healthcare. The evening included a panel discussion featuring Dr. Will Emerson, Chief of Staff at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center RiverBend, alongside Drs. Gianina Best, Bianca Jacobs, and Jeremy Brown of Eugene Emergency Physicians (EEP).
Hosted in partnership with the American Academy of Emergency Medicine and the University of Oregon, the event created space for important dialogue around physician autonomy, healthcare systems, and the evolving realities facing medical professionals and patients alike.

💚⚖️ 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝐀𝐭 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞: 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐠𝐞 ⚖️💚
“We need people who can live in both worlds — deliver care and yet understand the administration of the care.”
For Dr. Jeanne Savage, advocacy is more than policy — it’s making sure people can actually access the care they need.
Her path into medicine began with childhood visits to the hospital alongside her grandmother, where the sense of care, comfort, and community left a lasting impression that would shape her future.
Today, as Chief Medical Officer at Trillium Community Health Plan, she helps advocate for thousands of Medicaid members across Oregon while continuing to stay grounded in the realities of patient care and community health.
From rural clinics in Southern Oregon to statewide healthcare advocacy, Dr. Savage’s work centers on improving access, strengthening collaboration, and ensuring patients feel heard within an increasingly complex healthcare system. 🤝📋
Through leadership, advocacy, and a deep commitment to community-centered medicine, Dr. Savage reminds us that meaningful healthcare extends far beyond the walls of the exam room.
