Good Earth Village Explore. Grow. Engage The mission is supported and operated on behalf of more than 140 member churches in Southeastern Minnesota.

Good Earth Village is a ministry built to develop leaders – people who see God’s creative, redemptive work the world and recognize their gifts and their call to do something about it. Ministry offerings include a full-service retreat center (overnight rentals, camping, weddings, and more), summer camp programs, leadership development training, and community service opportunities. Good Earth Village is a resource for the world, provided on behalf of the church.

Did you know 40% of pastors once worked at a summer camp?

Maybe that’s not as surprising as it sounds.

Camp counselors learn how to lead, listen, build community, navigate the unexpected, talk about faith, care deeply for people—and occasionally function on very little sleep. Sound a little like ministry?

Join us at Good Earth Village for our next Lunch & Learn: Why Camp Counselors Make Such Good Pastors with Pastor Nissa Peterson.

Together, we’ll explore the skills and experiences that connect camp ministry and congregational ministry—and why each is stronger when we recognize how much they have to offer one another.

For a celebration big enough to need the whole place, you can rent the whole place. Good Earth Village offers full-site rentals, including a Log Lodge Campus Weekend for couples and families who want more than a few hours.

Picture the ceremony outdoors, the reception in the Great Room, and everyone you love staying on site instead of scattering to hotels at the end of the night.

Come spend a morning caring for the place we all love.

Join us at Good Earth Village on Saturday, October 24 from 8 a.m.–12 p.m. for our Stewardship Project!

Individuals, families, and groups are invited to roll up their sleeves, get outside, and help care for the land that makes Good Earth Village so special. We’ll have projects for a variety of interests and abilities—and no prior experience is needed.

Work hard. Meet some good people. Make a visible difference. And stick around for lunch on us at noon!

What happens when psalms written thousands of years ago meet the way we sing today? Dr. Richard Bruxvoort Colligan takes that question up on Tuesday, October 27 at the Log Lodge.

Richard is Director of Spiritual Formation at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Rochester. Check-in at 11:00, lunch at 11:30, and the presentation runs 12:15 to 1:30. Separate goodwill offerings are collected at the door for lunch and for our speaker.
