The final Music in the Park, which was rescheduled after being rained out, is set for Friday, August 28, with Matt and Brenda Stier entertaining. Giveaways this week are gift certificates for Ody's Country Meats and The Pizza Place. Friends of the Spring Valley Public Library is operating the Popcorn Wagon with proceeds going to that group. Popcorn supplies are again donated by Bruce E. Fujan State Farm.

This is a big step forward for Minnesota’s nursing home workforce! After more than three years, Minnesota’s new minimum-wage standards 💲 for nursing home workers have received the final federal approval to take effect in our state beginning September 10.

Nursing home staff do incredibly important work caring for our loved ones and some of the most vulnerable members of our communities. ❤️‍🩹 These wage increases are a real, meaningful move in the right direction. 🙏

At WDI, one of our longest-standing programs supporting pathways into these careers is Bridges to Healthcare (B2HC). What began in Southeast MN has since served as a model for similar programs all across the country. B2HC helps adults build the academic skills, training and credentials needed to pursue in-demand healthcare careers, including CNA & TMA pathways, with hands-on support every step of the way. 🩺
