It's official. Thanks to a generous donation by service, we have our first ever response vehicle. It is pretty plain, but with the help of Midwest Signtech, we are coming up with a wrap that will let us be known and visible. Here is my call for help. Since this is our first, we have only the basic equipment; response bag, basic monitor, and (thanks to SE MN Emergency Medical Services) a brand new AED. If any other first responder units have equipment that is out of service but still usable and within standards, please give Caleb Hall a DM. As with all emergency services, we have a limited budget. Just wanted to show off our new toy and wish everyone a great day and a better tomorrow!

If you are thinking about joining Wykoff First Responders, now is the time. You can take EMR level courses for this class also. It will not get any closer. If you are a RN and want your EMT license this is also the time. PLEASE REACH OUR AND ASK IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS AND WANT TO JOIN WYKOFF FIRST RESPONDERS!. You will not regret the decision. 🩺Are you a Registered Nurse (RN) looking to give back to your community and volunteer on your local First Responder or Ambulance Service? We got you covered! We'll also have RN-to-EMT options for the course; condensed curriculum, skills/scenario days, and Field Experiences with local Ambulance Services, all with that beloved reduced price!

July 2026 Wykoff First Responders had 4 calls for service. Even though July was hot, there was no heat related calls.

Mike was a staple for Wykoff Fire and Wykoff Ambulance. He laid the foundation for our area. You just don't replace a guy like Mike, you hope you can build a person like him. He was there for many calls and was there for any training that we needed. Wykoff First Responders was able to have Mike train 4 from the Wykoff area in 2025 to become EMR'S. It was hard to find someone willing to take the time to teach a class in our area. All of our volunteers have other jobs and having a class so class was beyond invaluable. We all strive to be able to accomplish just one fraction what Mike was able to do. Mike you and your family will be forever in our thoughts. I had to wait a few days to post because it has hit our communities so hard with the sudden loss.

JULY 20, 2026- SPRING VALLEY, MN

This weekend, the SE Region suffered the loss of a "one of a kind" colleague, Mike Zimmer, "The Wild Man."

Whether responding to the needs of his community or instructing the future of EMS, Mike exemplified selfless service, "quiet" leadership, and an unwavering commitment to helping those in their greatest moments of need. Mike's impact reached far beyond the calls he answered it lives on in the people he mentored, the crews he led, the providers he taught, and the countless lives he touched.

To his family, friends, coworkers, and Spring Valley Area Ambulance, we extend our deepest condolences and are available for ANYTHING you need.

We honor Mike's service, his sacrifice, and the legacy he leaves behind.

May we continue to carry forward the values he lived every day: courage, compassion, and dedication to others.

A Celebration of Life will be held on:

📍Bluff Brothers Brewery, 817 N. Broadway Avenue, Spring Valley, MN.

Burial will be at Saint Ignatius Cemetery in Spring Valley at a later date.

June 2026 Wykoff First Responders had a busy month with 9 calls for service. The majority of the calls came in a 10 day span. Wykoff First Responders are looking for people.who show interest in the EMS field. If you ever thought about wanting to join reach out to a current member or stop into city hall about how to join.
