One of our regional pastors recently shared these photos following another major Russian attack on Kyiv. They show the devastating aftermath, including a missile crater where a playground once stood and damage to homes and civilian infrastructure.

We don't share images like these simply for the sake of sharing them. We share them because they reflect the reality millions of Ukrainians continue to face every day. They remind us why the work of Light for Ukraine remains so important.

Alongside the devastation, we also witness something else: churches serving their communities, families finding hope, lives being transformed by the Gospel, and faith that refuses to be shaken. We believe it's important to hold both realities: the tragedy of war and the hope, resilience, and love of Christ shining through His people.

This summer, the United Nations reported the highest number of civilian casualties in a single month since 2022. Please continue praying for Ukraine, for peace, for protection, and for the churches faithfully serving on the front lines of hope.

After Russian shelling caused a fire that damaged the roof of Light of the Gospel Church in Balakliia, the community came together to rebuild.

Pastors, deacons, young adults, teenagers, and longtime church members have all stepped in to help with the physical repairs, while the women of the church prepare meals to keep everyone going.

Every helping hand is a reminder that the Church is not just a building. It's God's people, united in faith and serving one another with love.

"There is good." ☀️ That was this year's theme for the children's summer camp in the Kyiv region.

Hosted by one of our partner churches alongside a visiting team from the United States, the camp began with an energetic first day full of games, activities, smiles, and excitement despite the intense summer heat.

In the evenings, the ministry continued with special programs for teenagers. The team also served at a modular housing community for internally displaced families, providing activities for children and separate gatherings to encourage and support adults.

In total, approximately 140 children and teenagers were reached through these programs. These are the moments we are committed to helping create and protect.

Moments of joy, community, faith, and hope for children whose lives have been deeply shaped by war.

One especially meaningful answer to prayer: throughout the scheduled children's camp, there were no air raid alerts. Although an alert was issued on Friday, it ended before the program began, allowing the day's activities to continue uninterrupted. The church community praised God for His protection and faithfulness.

There is nothing more beautiful than witnessing lives made new in Christ. 💙

More people publicly declared their faith in Jesus through baptism, taking the next step in their walk with Christ. Their church family gathered to celebrate their commitment to following Jesus, surround them with encouragement, and joyfully welcome them into the community of believers.

We rejoice with them and praise God for all that He is doing in and through His people.

For many of us, a camping trip is simply a fun summer activity. But for these young people in Ukraine, it meant so much more.

They traveled by boat to their campsite, pitched tents, cooked meals over an open fire, explored the outdoors, and ended each day gathered around the campfire in worship.

In the fifth year of full-scale war, moments like these are incredibly meaningful. For some of the older teenagers, adulthood and the reality of military service are drawing closer. A few days of laughter, friendship, and simply being teenagers are a gift.

Creating spaces like this reminds them that even in the midst of war, there is still joy, hope, community, and the unchanging love of Christ.

A team from Agape Church, one of our partner churches in Bucha, Kyiv Oblast, Ukraine, recently visited temporary housing for displaced families in the Makariv community. These gatherings create a safe place for residents to connect, share their stories, receive encouragement, and pray together, reminding them they are not alone.

The team also served at an FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) camp attended by approximately 250 children. Through sports, games, mentorship, worship, and meaningful conversations, they had the opportunity to share the hope of the Gospel with the next generation.

Their ministry took place during extreme summer heat, with temperatures reaching nearly 50°C (122°F) in direct sunlight. Yet despite the challenging conditions, they continued to faithfully serve with joy, refusing to let the heat keep them from reaching people with Christ's love.

We are so grateful for their unwavering commitment and inspired by their willingness to go wherever God leads to bring hope, encouragement, and the Gospel to those who need it most.

When a team visited Balakliya after the fire, they saw a damaged roof, burned sections of the building, and the long list of repairs still ahead. They expected grief but they found hospitality.

The church was still there. People were still gathering. Still welcoming guests.

One of the things we’ve learned from Ukraine is that rebuilding is a form of resistance.

Not only do churches continue planting new congregations, they also rebuild the ones that have been damaged or destroyed.

Brick by brick. When Jesus taught us to pray, He said:

“Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

Every repaired roof.

Every reopened church.

Every gathering of believers.

It’s a small declaration that destruction will not have the final word. The building was damaged but the mission continues.

What happens when a church hosts a volleyball game and serves snacks? Young people show up :)

Recently, a church in central Ukraine organized an open community gathering for local teenagers and young adults.

There were games. And there were also conversations about life, faith, and purpose.

Before people listen to what you believe, they often need to know they belong!

Every week, one of the pastors we support drives from village to village across eastern Ukraine.

He brings Bibles, clean drinking water and humanitarian aid. But most importantly, he brings presence.

People know when he’s coming. They gather outdoors regardless of the weather.

We share stories like this because they remind us that a church is more than a building. At its heart, it’s people gathering around faith. The closer you get to the front lines, the more clearly you see it.

Every summer young people from our partner churches gather at the Youth Festival in Ukraine.

This August, a new group of young people will create new memories and discover more about who God created them to be.

Please pray for every student who will attend. Sometimes a single week can shape a lifetime.
