Light for Ukraine

Light for Ukraine Church planting + kids camps in war-torn Ukraine. Sharing Jesus. Loving people.

If you have a young son or a daughter, you probably think about their future - their stability, their opportunities, the kind of life they’ll step into.

For many young people in Ukraine, that picture has been disrupted. Some have been displaced. Some are learning to live without structure or routine. Some are already stepping into the responsibility of defending their homeland.

That’s why our partner churches keep investing in young people - creating spaces where they can gather, build real relationships, and grow in their faith.

The church building burned for hours after the missile strike.

And when the fire was finally out, people stepped back into the ruins and started singing:

“I love the Church, redeemed by Christ.”

Moments like this remind you what the Church really is.

Because the Church was never ultimately built from brick and wood. It is built from people formed by love.

This is the quiet strength of the Church in Ukraine right now. It’s not untouched by suffering.

But it’s faithful. And it is a privilege for us at Light for Ukraine to stand alongside churches and ministries across Ukraine as they continue bringing the Gospel, serving their communities, and carrying hope in the middle of war.

In the middle of ashes and shattered glass, the presence of God still feels near.

Why your monthly support matters.

It allows us to:

-support pastors and their families as they continue to lead through the war
-keep churches open and ready to serve after each attack
-respond quickly to real needs on the ground
-continue building and planting new churches across Ukraine

It takes $18,000 to plant a church that can serve displaced families and build community long-term.
It’s a big number, but it is made possible through small, consistent contributions.

It can look like:
-180 people giving $100
-36 people giving $500
-18 people giving $1,000

This is how the Gospel reaches people - through all of us. Would you consider becoming a monthly supporter?

Some of the pastors in Ukraine we partner with have started what they call a “plastic windows” ministry, going into neighborhoods after attacks to temporarily cover windows shattered by blast waves.

Because in a time when everything feels shaken, the church is one of the first places people turn to. Even in the middle of war, the Gospel continues to move - through your support, through these churches, into the lives of people who need it right now.

We want to say thank you.

Because of your support, local churches in Ukraine are able to show up for their communities in real, practical ways - providing food for families who need it most right now.

Simple things like groceries and shared meals become something much bigger when the church becomes the place people turn to for daily support.

These moments of connection matter just as much as the help itself.

What does displacement actually look like?

It looks like families leaving home with just one backpack, getting on a bus, and heading to a place they’ve never lived before.

It looks like starting over in a new city, further from the front lines, often in temporary housing, built quickly for those who had to leave everything behind.

Right now, we’re seeing this in a community in Cherkasy, where dozens of families from the Donetsk region are rebuilding life from scratch.

In places like this, we’ve seen how important the church becomes.

Where a church is present, it becomes a center of life, a place where people gather, find support, and don’t have to rebuild alone. And in this community, that kind of place is still missing.

That’s why we want to help start a church here.

A place that can bring people together, and offer a strong, faith-based foundation for rebuilding life.
You can be part of planting a new church where people don’t have to walk through this alone.

We just want to take a moment and say thank you.

Some of you have been with us since the very beginning, when this ministry started in 2019. Some of you joined when the full-scale war began in 2022. And many of you are still here.

In a world where there is always another crisis, another headline, another cause asking for attention, it’s easy to move on.

But you didn’t.

Because of your faithfulness, the work of the Gospel in Ukraine continues.
