Dickinson County 4-H & Youth Iowa State University Extension and Outreach carries Iowa State’s land-grant mission throughout the state -- everywhere for all Iowans.

Dickinson County 4-H & Youth Programs provides fun educational opportunities to K-12th grade youth through After School Programs, 4-H Club Membership, Clover Kids, weekend events, plus Winter Break & Summer Camps and classroom enrichment programs. In Dickinson County, we connect the needs of area residents with Iowa State University research and resources. We provide education and partnerships designed to solve today’s problems and prepare for the future.

Apply now to become an Iowa 4-H Agricultural Ambassador! Represent Iowa 4-H, grow your leadership skills, and connect with youth across the state. 🐮🐔🐑

🔸 Applicants must be at least 16 and not older than 20 as of January 1st of the current year at the time of their application.
🔹 Term will be from August through September of the following year.
🔸 Monthly in-person retreats, virtual leadership and skill building opportunities, service experiences and career exploration tours.

This past weekend we had such a fun time getting to bring the office pets Oreo, Clover, and Poptart to meet everyone and send the kids home with information on caring for pets and paper cut outs to make their own guinea pig. Kids and Adults likewise got to enjoy our furry friends! Thank you to everyone who stopped out to see us!

Fishing Camp kicked off the week with our amazing partners at Lakeside Lab!
Campers spent the day reeling in fish, pond‑dipping for macroinvertebrates, learning how to clean their catch, and cooling off with a dip in the lake.

To top it off, every camper went home with a new fishing rod and reel thanks to the Iowa Great Lakes Fishing Club.

Tot's n' Tomatoes is in full swing and our garden is now above the surface. Got a fresh layer of mulch and a well watered garden. After some fun activities we were able to visit the Lakes Area Farmer's Market. Open 3-6pm every Wednesday this summer and Saturday mornings.🥕🌽🥦🫛🫑🧅🍞🍓🍉

The Critter Camp Kitchen is open. These aspiring chefs & pet lovers made dog/cat treats from scratch. Homemade dog/cat toys were also assembled. Then camp reached an entirely new level of excitement with a surprise visit from Carl (the dog) and four kittens (4 weeks old). It was game over for these pet lovers. Thanks Fallon (ISU Ext. & Outreach employee) for letting us love up on your pets. 🐈🦮🐈‍⬛
