Happy Working Wednesday!

In honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we are shining a spotlight on our Employment Services team. This dedicated group works hard every day to connect our participants with meaningful jobs and supportive employers in the community, and we love sharing the inspiring success stories that come from these partnerships.

We invite you to join us for an Employment Services Meet and Greet on Wednesday, October 21st, starting at 11:30 AM. This is a great opportunity for schools, agencies, and potential business partners to learn about how we build a more inclusive workforce right here in Downriver.

Come meet the team, ask questions, and enjoy refreshments provided by Java Junction By Arkay!

We look forward to seeing you there.

Staff Spotlight: Meet Jennifer!

Jennifer Dubie joined Arkay in August as our Director of Fund Development. Some of you may not know her yet.

As a nonprofit, Arkay Incorporated is supported by grants and generous donors from our community. Jennifer’s work is to bring in that support so we can serve more people. That includes writing grants and asking for donations. She is also out in the community often, building relationships and sharing Arkay’s story.

Jennifer grew up in the Downriver area and has worked in nonprofit fundraising for more than 13 years. She is excited to meet our supporters and help Arkay’s mission grow.

Welcome to the team, Jennifer! We’re glad you’re here.

Working Wednesday: Meet Tristan!

Today we are highlighting Tristan, who works as an office cleaner at Mitten Mortgage Lending. He has been keeping their space clean since 2020. He even made the transition with the team when Mitten Mortgage moved into their new building.

Tristan enjoys having a steady job and earning a paycheck. His employer, Chris, shared that hiring Tristan through Arkay was the easiest choice he had to make because he knew he would get a dependable worker who was supported by Arkay Incorporated.

As we celebrate Disability Employment Awareness Month this October, Tristan's six years of consistent, reliable work shows the impact of local workplace partnerships.

Thank you to Chris and Mitten Mortgage Lending for partnering with us to build strong community employment connections!
