Iwo Jima 81st Anniversary

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1DZimuSMYb/

On February 19, 1945, U.S. Marines landed on the volcanic sands of the island, beginning a 36-day conflict that would become a defining moment in military history. The courage displayed by those who fought — symbolized forever by the iconic flag-raising atop Mount Suribachi just days later — remains a testament to the "uncommon valor" of the Greatest Generation.

As we look back 81 years later, we honor the memory of the thousands who gave their lives and the veterans who carried the spirit of Iwo Jima home. We will never forget.
