🎂 Birthday Box Packing! 📦

It’s been a little while since I’ve shared an update from behind the scenes, but the work never stops! I’m currently spending some time packing birthday boxes for several big distributions coming up.

Each box takes time and care to put together, from organizing birthday supplies and decorations to making sure each box has something special for the birthday child.

There’s a lot happening behind the scenes at Project Celebrate Downriver right now, and I’m excited for what’s ahead. I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who continues to donate, support, share, and help make all of this possible.

I can’t wait to get these boxes out into the community and help celebrate even more birthdays! More updates will be coming in the following days, so stay tuned!

📦 Project Celebrate Downriver Update! 🎉

On Tuesday, I dropped off 15 more birthday boxes to Fish & Loaves Community Food Pantry, completing my second birthday box drop-off with them! These boxes will help celebrate even more birthdays for children and families in our community. I also have additional Fish & Loaves drop-offs planned for this month, and I’m excited to continue growing this partnership.

🏡 I’m also excited to announce that Project Celebrate Downriver Porch Birthday Box Pickup will officially begin next week! This new option will give families even more flexibility by allowing them to schedule a pickup day and pick up their birthday box from my front porch.

If you’ve already requested a birthday box through the new Porch Pickup option, please be sure to check your text messages over the next couple of days! I’ll be sending out the Porch Pickup Scheduling Form so you can select a pickup date that works best for you.

📅 The August Birthday Box Pickup Day will be held toward the end of the month. I’ll be announcing the official date soon!

🏡📦 Introducing Project Celebrate Downriver Porch Birthday Box Pickup! 🎉

Need a birthday box but can’t make it to one of our Birthday Box Pickup Day events? Project Celebrate Downriver Porch Birthday Box Pickup is now available!

Here’s how it works:
🎂 Complete the Birthday Box Request Form using the link above.
📅 Once your request has been received and approved, I’ll send you a Porch Pickup Scheduling Form via text where you can choose a pickup date.
🏡 On your scheduled pickup day, your birthday box will be placed on my front porch with your name on it. You may stop by and pick it up any time between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM on your scheduled pickup day.
🎉 It’s that simple!

This new pickup option provides families with greater flexibility while helping me get birthday boxes into the hands of children more efficiently. Birthday Box Pickup Day events will still continue, but Porch Pickup offers another convenient way to receive a birthday box.

🎉📦 Project Celebrate Downriver Update!

On June 27, I hosted June Birthday Box Pickup Day #2 at the Southgate Veterans Memorial Library parking lot, where I distributed 14 birthday boxes to local families. With that event, Project Celebrate Downriver officially surpassed 100 birthdays celebrated! 🎂🎉

Then, last Wednesday, I made my first birthday box drop-off to Fish & Loaves Community Food Pantry, delivering 15 birthday boxes that will now be distributed to families through their pantry. I’m excited to officially kick off this partnership with Fish & Loaves and help reach even more families through their food pantry.

🇺🇸Happy Independence Day! 🦅

Today we celebrate 250 years of freedom and reflect on all the great things our nation has been able to accomplish. As we enjoy time with family, friends, and community, let us remember those who fought for our freedom and honor the sacrifices that have made this day possible. Wishing everyone a safe, joyful, and memorable Fourth of July! 🎆🎉

🤝💜🐞 Project Celebrate Downriver × The DRE Project 🎉📦

I’m excited to announce a partnership between Project Celebrate Downriver and The DRE Project, founded by Jennifer Jackson! 💜🐞

The DRE Project serves families across Metro Detroit through compassionate outreach, including dry and fresh food distribution, home-cooked meals, and birthday boxes for children and families in need.

Their birthday box initiative ensures kids can still experience the joy of celebrating their birthday. Jennifer provides empty boxes to schools, churches, and community groups, where volunteers pack and decorate them before returning them for distribution. Each box includes a cake mix, frosting, candles, a cake pan, and a can of pop, with groups able to add extra items. I love how this brings people together and makes every box unique.

Jennifer recently reached out after having an abundance of pre-made birthday boxes. On Monday, I picked up a few of the boxes, along with a large supply of birthday items, decorations, and empty boxes, allowing me to pack more boxes of my own.

Moving forward, Jennifer will continue sending empty boxes for me to coordinate with schools, churches, and community organizations to pack and decorate. I’ll also reach out to groups she’s worked with in the past to bring them back into this mission. I’ll meet with her regularly to pick up more of the many premade boxes she already has packed.

Through partnership, I’ll lead distribution of The DRE Project’s birthday boxes throughout Metro Detroit, while Jennifer continues supporting by providing boxes, sharing donations, and helping grow this partnership.

My goal is to add additional supplies to each box so they match the quality of Project Celebrate Downriver boxes. I’m also excited to attend and support DRE Project events across Metro Detroit to reach more families.

I truly believe this partnership will expand birthday celebrations across Downriver and beyond. 🎉🎂📦💜🐞

A huge thank you to everyone who continues to support Project Celebrate Downriver!

Thank you to Deanna Adams from my church for donating Domino’s gift cards, Lauren Maffesoli Critchlow for donating several of the supplies pictured below, including gluten-free cake mix (which will help me better serve children with dietary restrictions), and Susanne Blais for donating several of the items pictured below.
