At the 2026 Autism Hero Walk: Detroit, the Autism Alliance of Michigan is thrilled to be partnering with A Sense of Autism to offer a one-of-a-kind, family-friendly Scavenger Hunt!

Hero Walk attendees that participate in the Scavenger Hunt can look forward to following clues, visiting designated locations throughout the Detroit Zoo, and collecting stickers to complete their Scavenger Hunt card.
And along that Scavenger Hunt adventure, attendees will be guided to the numerous sensory-friendly and quiet areas the Zoo has to offer, allowing you to take breaks and set your own clue-gathering pace.

We heard your call.

Families across Michigan are ready for boarding, but our On Board with Autism program currently has more families waiting at the gate than available seats.

So this summer, we're trying to raise $25,000 to expand the program and help more families Clear for Takeoff!

Right now, On Board with Autism serves just 35 families and has no dedicated funding source. Together, we can reduce the waitlist and help more families experience the freedom and confidence that comes with air travel.
