Hello all,

I oversee the JJHS Veterans Club. Please see the message below from the club co-presidents, Josh Cooper ('28) and Owen Kurlanzik ('28).

On November 10th, the annual dedication of the Field of Honor will take place at the high school. This is an event that honors and recognizes veterans in our community. On behalf of our club, we are reaching out to welcome all veterans in our district to our event.

Date: Tuesday, November 10, 2026
Time and Location: 12:00pm lunch for veterans in the high school ACR, 1:00pm ceremony on the high school front lawn

If you are a veteran interested in attending and being honored at the ceremony, please complete the form below by Friday, October 30th.

Administration, teachers, and staff are welcome to attend the ceremony at 1:00pm. High school teachers are encouraged to attend the ceremony with their students.

Here is the flyer for the terrific JJMS Veterans Appreciation on Nov 10 for breakfast and a wonderful school assembly.. Let’s have a big turnout. Breakfast is always outstanding.

Please join us for our Veterans Day Ceremony on Wednesday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m. at the South Salem Firehouse, 1190 Route 35.

We’ll gather in gratitude to honor the brave men and women who served our country, recognize those currently serving in our Armed Forces, and pay tribute to the dedicated first responders who serve and protect our community. Together, we’ll recognize the shared spirit of sacrifice, duty, and service.

Dear Veteran,

New York State Senator Pete Harckham is pleased to invite you to the 2026 Putnam County Veterans Appreciation Chow Down. The event will be held on Sunday, November 8 at the Putnam County Golf Course, 187 Hill Street, Mahopac.
The Chow Down will be a sit-down meal served family style with live entertainment, music, giveaways, and more! The Chow Down is free for Veterans and one guest each. There will be two seating times to choose from - 11 a.m. or 2 p.m.
To sign up, please call Senator Harckham's District Office at (914) 241-4600, and a staff member will complete your registration. Please RSVP before the October 30 deadline.
A flyer for the event and a letter invitation from Senator Harckham are attached. I hope you will be able to attend!

Veterans Day 2026 Delivery Project
Celebrating 16 Years of Honoring Our Hometown Heroes!

Hello, Friends, Neighbors, and Volunteers! We are reaching out to our wonderful community in hopes that you will join us in making this Veterans Day extra special! This year, we are celebrating our 16th year of honoring our hometown heroes! With your help, we will once again deliver special goodie bags filled with love, appreciation, and gratitude to over 255 veterans' homes in our community this Veterans Day.
We need your support to make this wonderful tradition possible! Whether you're baking cookies, making cards, creating patriotic ribbons, or helping with deliveries, every contribution makes a difference.
It truly takes a village, and ours is a very special one! The joy and gratitude these simple gestures bring to our veterans are heartwarming beyond words. Many look forward to this special visit each year, and it reminds them that their service and sacrifices are never forgotten.

A beautiful evening honoring our Veterans at the annual summer BBQ !
Thank you to the Lewisboro Lions, The Horse and Hound Inn and The Bedford Veterans Advisory Committee for making the evening a great one!
Our Veterans shared heartfelt Stories and reflections from the most recent Honor Flight.
There was music from our high school's bugler, good food, good company, and great camaraderie !
