❤️ Seasoned pro with a mix of sass-meet Zee.

At 21, Zee is the wise elder of our herd, with over 10 years of therapy experience. She’s grounded, sun-loving, and never misses a chance to bat her lashes at the boys.

Whether she’s holding space in a session or sneaking in a nap, Zee reminds us that life doesn’t have to rush and presence can be powertul and playtul.

Say hi to Princess Zee in the comments (She’s been expecting you.)

HorseTherapy

At Stable Friendships, a session can include more than time in the arena.

It might mean stopping at the stream. Checking on the garden. Meeting a kitten who has decided to join the day. Saying hello to a horse before anything else happens.

There are things to touch, sounds to notice, small jobs to do, and lots of fresh air. There is room to move. Room to get curious. Room to enjoy being outside with people and animals who are glad you came.

Our therapy goals guide the session. And we also make room for the ordinary moments that help a child settle in, join in, and feel good where they are.

That is part of what makes a day at Stable Friendships feel like itself.

Which stop would you make first: the stream, the garden, the kittens, or the horses?

🌟Volunteer Spotlight: Loretta🌟

One of the things Loretta has found most rewarding about volunteering is learning how to lead the horses. It has been challenging at times, but it has also taught her something really valuable: how to stay calm and present, even when things don’t go exactly as planned.

And we love hearing that.

Horses have a funny way of teaching us things about ourselves that we may not even realize we need to learn. For Loretta, being around them has been an opportunity to practice patience, boundaries, presence, and a whole new way of communicating.

One of her favorite moments at the barn is when a child chooses her to be the person who helps them off the horse. That simple choice means so much. It is a little moment of trust that can make her whole day.

Loretta has also enjoyed learning how much horses communicate without words. As she put it, she has been fascinated by learning how to establish boundaries and communicate nonverbally with horses.

And when asked if those skills might help her communicate better with people, she said, “I don’t know, but I may try it!” 😂

We are so grateful for Loretta and the calm, caring presence she brings to Stable Friendships. Thank you for being willing to learn, grow, and let the horses teach you along the way. ❤️🐴

At the barn, connection often begins quietly: a pause, a curious glance, a shared moment of attention.

Horses invite us to slow down and notice what is happening in the space between us. For a child, a moment like this can be simple and meaningful. The freedom to be curious, to be noticed, and to meet a new friend at their own pace.

At Stable Friendships Foundation, we believe every child deserves opportunities for belonging, connection, and the steady companionship of horses.

What quiet moments of connection have stayed with you?

📣 Everyone, meet Ozzy!

This golden-hearted Haflinger joined our herd in Spring 2024 and has been melting hearts ever since. At 8 years old, with an Aries spirit and a love for snacks, he’s already showing us he was made for this work.

Fun fact: Ozzy is owned by our very own Jessica Falco, SLP!

And here’s something
even more special-every horse we partner with is owned by a therapist on our team. That means our horses are more than therapy partners... they’re family.

Drop a
to welcome Ozzy and celebrate the
beautiful bonds that make our work possible.

Therapy does not always look like therapy.

Sometimes it looks like brushing a horse, taking a deep breath, and realizing that your body can feel a little more settled than it did a moment ago.

At Stable Friendships Foundation, we pay attention to these small shifts - the softer breath, the steadier posture, the growing confidence, the feeling of being comfortable beside a horse.

These quiet moments are part of the work. They are also part of the joy.

Sometimes this is the work.

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Antonella 🌟

For more than a year, Antonella faithfully volunteered alongside our speech-language pathologist, Patricia, helping create a safe and encouraging environment where children could learn, grow, and find their voice.

As Antonella prepares to head off to college to pursue her dream of becoming a speech-language pathologist, we couldn’t be more excited for all that lies ahead. Her compassion, curiosity, and dedication have already made a meaningful impact on so many children and families, and we know she will continue to change lives in the years to come.

What brings Antonella the most joy is witnessing a child reach a goal they have been working so hard toward, no matter how big or how small. Those moments remind us that progress isn’t measured only by milestones, but by the courage it takes to keep trying.

One of her favorite memories perfectly captures the magic of Stable Friendships: a child used their AAC device to make a “neigh” sound while riding... and the horse answered with a neigh of his own. A moment of connection, communication, and pure joy.

Antonella shared that one of the greatest lessons she’s learned is that everyone, people and horses alike, has their own unique way of communicating, and that individuality is something worth celebrating. We couldn’t agree more.

Antonella, thank you for sharing your heart with Stable Friendships Foundation. It has been a privilege to watch you grow, and we are cheering you on as you begin this exciting new chapter. We can’t wait to see the incredible speech-language pathologist you become. ❤️🐴

Well… 3.6 million views changed Whinnie. 😂👑

Ever since becoming an internet sensation, she’s been insisting on her own Beyoncé fan.

We can’t say no… she’s 28, retired, and has definitely earned main character status. 💙

Thank you for all the love you’ve shown Whinnie.

Watching the world fall in love with her has been just as special for us as it has been for her (although we suspect she’s enjoying the attention a little more than she’s letting on 😉).

Thank you to the amazing Hazelnut Farms for sharing this special soul with us.

📣 Let’s Encourage This Little
Equestrian!

From Uncertainty with Taking steps to Unstoppable !!!

These videos were taken during Hippotherapy sessions. These were sessions of physical, occupational and speech therapy partnered with equine movement.

StableFriendshipsFoundation we are so proud to offer all 3 disciplines partnering with our equines as well as our nature based program.
And to ensure the full story of this transformation is told, this little equestrian also attends SMILE Therapy For Kids for intensive therapy sessions. I can speak for the entire team when I say his results from those intensives are truly the best we have ever seen. Very cool program.

Make sure to save this for when you need your smile
