988 Day is on Tuesday, 9/8/2026!

This growing tradition raises awareness of the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline and the continued need for mental health support, with each year focusing on a different theme.

The 2026 theme is, "988 Reasons: Your reason is reason enough," reminds us that you don't have to be in crisis to reach out to 988. Whatever you're facing, big or small, your reason for seeking support is reason enough to call/text 988 or chat 988lifeline.org.

Our generous community partners and volunteers were very busy last week helping us with our School Supply Drive and Pop-Up.

We received an amazing donation from Jenna and Josh with Clark Insurance, a Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC company pictured below. We were also fortunate to receive donations from NBT Bank, Wgtech, Norway Savings Bank, Machias Savings Bank, and Capozza Floor Covering Center.

We also had wonderful volunteers come in to organize all the donations we received to ensure our clients have supplies to start the school year on the right foot. Unum

Thank you to everyone who helped make this drive a huge success.

A Great Start for all Parents, Right at Home

Have you heard of TOA's Maine Families Program?

This program provides free home visits to expectant parents and parents/caregivers with babies and toddlers. During regularly scheduled visits, their experienced Family Visitors use current, evidence-based information and a non-judgmental approach.

Hear from a few current participants about their experience with the program:

👉"I think many mothers feel alone and isolated at times in their daily routine. These visits feel like a breath of fresh air and give me the opportunity to talk openly with someone who understands, without judgment, how hard it can be to be a mother, and to receive the support I need."
👉"This is truly a wonderful program that helped me stay afloat during a very difficult time, far away from my family. I have received an incredible amount of useful and valuable information, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to be part of this program."
👉"In a time of extreme transition, [Family Visitor] has made me feel seen, support, and more confident as a parent. Having this resource has been immeasurably valuable to me."

This program is not based on income- anyone is eligible, and there is currently no waitlist for new applicants. Learn more today at www.OpportunityAlliance.org/maine-families or email [email protected]
