Today Tom and Nate, our new friends from Northline Summit Utilities, stopped in to share an exciting gift on behalf of their team.

During their annual safety conference, Northline Summit employees chose to fundraise for Special Olympics Maine! Their team rallied together to raise $9,250 for our programs and athletes. This meaningful investment will empower our athletes, create new opportunities, and build a more inclusive community in Maine.

We hope that you join us in saying thank you so much Summit Utilities for your generosity and believing in our athletes!

What a great organization that has some amazing opportunities for our athletes! They have a few sessions left in the 2026 season, so check them out!

MDI Wheelers is a volunteer-led nonprofit organization that provides safe, comfortable, and free rides on special electric-assist trikes for people who would like a ride on Acadia's carriage roads but need assistance.

The 2026 season begins on June 4, and volunteers are needed to help make this year a success. If you'd like to volunteer, there will be a training session this Saturday, May 16 at 9:00 AM near the Eagle Lake boat ramp. Learn more about volunteering on the MDI Wheelers website: https://www.mdiwheelers.org/volunteers/

Riders, friends, and family members can book rides for the season here: https://www.mdiwheelers.org/ride-with-us/

🎉 Our new website is LIVE!

We listened to athletes, families, coaches, volunteers, and staff — and built the new somaine.org around what we heard.

It’s easier to find what you need, get involved, and see more of the people who make Special Olympics Maine special.

👀 Come explore the new somaine.org!

Sports are the starting line. A more inclusive Maine is where we’re headed — and there’s a place in it for everyone.

👀 Something new is coming to somaine.org.

Meet our new Development Manager Tyler LeClair!

Here’s a little bit about Tyler:

“I’m Tyler LeClair, Development Manager for Special Olympics Maine! My history with Special Olympics started very recently, but it did not take long to see the impact of the work being done here. For that reason, I’m incredibly excited and honored to be on the team to help build resources for athletes across the state.

My career has been centered around serving my community. I’ve been fundraising for the past 4 years, but have previously been a crisis worker, corrections officer and worked in grocery leadership for a number of years.

When I’m not fundraising, I love woodworking, fishing, camping off a motorcycle, spending time with my friends, and training for races - I have my first Spartan Race in November!

I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish at Special Olympics Maine. There’s so much great work being done already, and everyone has been so welcoming. As you may be able to sense yourselves, this organization radiates positivity and excitement!”- Tyler

We are excited to have Tyler joining the SOME team, please join us in giving him a warm welcome!
