Today, Veterans Forward at Easterseals Maine recognizes Agent Orange Awareness Day, a time to raise awareness about the lasting impact of Agent Orange exposure on veterans, their families, and caregivers.

Millions of gallons of Agent Orange were used during the Vietnam War, and decades later many veterans continue to face serious health conditions linked to that exposure. For some families, the effects have spanned generations.

This day serves as a reminder of the importance of education, advocacy, and access to benefits, healthcare, and support services for those affected.

We encourage our community to learn more about Agent Orange, listen to the stories of Vietnam veterans, and help ensure that those impacted receive the recognition and care they deserve.

Together, we can honor their service by increasing awareness and supporting those who continue to live with the effects of exposure.

On Purple Heart Day, Veterans Forward at Easterseals Maine proudly honors the brave service members who were wounded or made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation.

The Purple Heart is one of our nation's oldest military decorations, awarded to those who have been injured or killed in combat. Today, we recognize the extraordinary courage, resilience, and selfless service of Purple Heart recipients and their families.

Their sacrifices remind us of the true cost of freedom and inspire us to uphold our commitment to supporting veterans in our communities.

Please join us in honoring these heroes and expressing our gratitude for their service and sacrifice.

Honoring Korean War Veterans on National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day
Today, Veterans Forward at Easterseals Maine proudly honors the brave men and women who served during the Korean War. On this National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day, we remember the sacrifices, resilience, and unwavering dedication of those who answered the call to serve.
Often referred to as the “Forgotten War,” the legacy of Korean War veterans will never be forgotten by those whose freedoms they helped protect. We extend our deepest gratitude to all who served and to the families who stood beside them.
Thank you for your courage, your service, and your sacrifice.

At Easterseals Maine, Red Friday (R.E.D. Friday) is a simple but powerful way to show support for our military community. Each Friday, staff and supporters are encouraged to wear red as a reminder to “Remember Everyone Deployed”—honoring the service, sacrifice, and ongoing commitment of those currently serving away from home. This visible act of solidarity helps keep veterans, service members, and their families at the forefront of our community’s mission and reinforces Easterseals Maine’s dedication to supporting those who have served.
