The countdown has begun and our Holiday Boutique is getting closer! We’re featuring over 30 local artisans selling hand crafted goods including candles, jewelry, ceramics, home decor, holiday gifts, packaged food and more. We have been hosting this event for years and is one of our favorite traditions. Be sure to watch our socials as we begin highlighting the participating artisans.

Admission is free, so be sure to bring a friend.

It wasn’t until:
1952 that Asian women could vote;
1957 that Native American women could vote; and
1965 that Black women could vote.

Exercise your right to vote.
Make your voice heard.
Your vote matters.

We would like to give a huge thank you to Dr. Maria Nelson from USC Keck Medical Hospital for speaking with us about risk factors and the importance of early detection in screening for breast cancer. Your presentation was very informative and led to some great questions and discussion with our attendees.

This week, we recognized several of our members for their dedication and service to the Woman’s Club. Please join us in congratulating Sally Ehrheart, Beverly Biber, Diane Crum and Bruce Crum.

Over their years of service, they have held leadership roles in the organization, led our Operation Cookie project, led regular donation drives of toiletry items for our veterans, and countless other ways of serving the Club and our community.

Did you know, according to the American Cancer Society, that:
* Approximately 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer
* The median age at the time of breast cancer diagnosis is 63. This means about half of breast cancers are diagnosed at a younger age, and about half are diagnosed at an older age
* About 1 in 10 women diagnosed with breast cancer are younger than 45

Join us as we welcome breast surgical oncologist Dr. Maria Nelson for an informative and engaging discussion about breast cancer risk and early detection. Learn how breast density, family history, lifestyle, and other factors can influence your personal risk, including which risk factors you can change and which you cannot. Dr. Nelson will review breast cancer screening, individualized risk assessment, common myths and misconceptions, and what we know about diet and lifestyle. You will leave with practical information to help better understand risk, make informed decisions about breast health, and learn about the comprehensive breast care services available through USC.

We might be sassy, but our dancing is classy!

Thank you to all the ladies who came out to join us at The Clubhouse last night for a fun evening of line dancing! We had so much fun boot scootin’ that Ms. Alison kept the dancing going after our scheduled end time. It was great to see so many familiar faces and meet new ladies checking out The Clubhouse for the first time. 🤠
