Today, we proudly celebrate two powerful symbols of our nation's strength and freedom, the 251st Birthday of the United States Army and Flag Day.

For more than two and a half centuries, America's Soldiers have stood ready to answer the call, defending our Constitution, protecting our freedoms, and carrying our nation's flag into the most difficult places on earth. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment have shaped the history of our country and secured the liberties we enjoy today.

The American flag is more than cloth and colors; it represents every service member who has worn the uniform, every family who has endured separation, and every hero who gave everything so future generations could live free.

At Operation Injured Soldiers, we honor those who served, support those still fighting battles long after the uniform comes off, and remember those who never made it home.

Today, as you fly your flag, take a moment to thank a Soldier, remember a fallen hero, and never forget the price of freedom.

June 4th Operation Injured Soldiers held the 4th Marine City Walleye Fishing event on the St. Clair River. 32 veterans fished on 18 boats; 168 walleyes were caught. It was great to see smiles on so many veterans’ faces. OIS thanks the boat captains for their time and use of their equipment as well as providing some of their previously caught walleye for the fish fry. OIS also thanks the volunteers who helped with event setup and the fish fry. The boat captains filleted the walleye, and each veteran was given a nice batch of fresh-caught walleye. OIS also thanks the City of Marine City for the use of the Public Marina.
