We are filled with gratitude after such a beautiful and meaningful event.
Thank you to Shirley King, Jazzercise, and the incredible Jazzercise South Lyon community for creating a space where healing, connection, and peace could flourish. Your energy and openness made this gathering truly special.
Eric had a gift for bringing people together through music, and we felt that spirit so strongly as we healed through sound, rested in the present moment, and were renewed together.
We also honor Eric’s story.
In 2020, during the shutdowns, Eric returned home from college—cut off from friends, performances, and the musical community he loved. The isolation and disruption of COVID deeply affected him as he was already navigating anxiety and depression. On July 11, 2020, overwhelmed by the weight of that season, Eric made the decision to leave this world. His life, his music, and his heart continue to inspire everything we do.
From that loss, a movement of hope has grown:
✨ 50 students supported through scholarships and financial assistance
✨ Over $16,000 awarded for mental‑health resources, private lessons, and artistic growth
✨ 1.0 (2020): 33 performers across 12 universities
✨ 2.0 (2023): 110 performers from around the world
✨ PlayWithEric Club launched at WVU in Fall 2024—student‑led, rooted in creativity, community, and mental wellness
✨ A model we hope to expand nationwide
This movement is more than music—it’s a message: no one is alone, and healing is possible through creativity and community.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us. 💛
