WHAT A DAY!!

More than 100 awesome SLCS educators from throughout the district stopped by Teacher Shopping Day and we couldn’t be more thrilled about all the extra books and school supplies going into South Lyon classrooms this fall 🙌🙌

This event would not have been possible without the help of so many! Great, big thanks going out to our community partners - Salem-South Lyon District Library, Lyon Township Public Library and Active Faith Community Services of South Lyon - for their donations and support, and Salem Elementary superhero Melissa Robinson for her leadership, time and talent. We’d also like to truly thank all the families and businesses who donated to our book drive throughout the summer, and the student volunteers who put in countless hours organizing neighborhood collections, picking up donations, moving and sorting books. Your generosity makes such a difference and these resources will positively impact so many South Lyon classrooms!

We'd like to thank two very special local businesses who always find wonderful ways to support our South Lyon schools and families - The Studio and Little Threads Children’s Resale Shoppe ❤

Though both businesses contribute to our community in many unique ways, we especially want to show our appreciation for their Kindergarten Welcome Bag flyer sponsorships this year. 500 of our littlest learners will be receiving bags packed full of literacy supplies and welcome materials very soon - every kindergartener in South Lyon! - and it simply wouldn't have been possible without the support of businesses like yours. We can't thank you enough for this, and for all that you do!!
