The students from Somerset Community College visited the center on Monday as part of their clinicals program. As part of their visit, they brought a balloon paddle board activity. The activity included eye and hand coordination while helping with brain stimulation. Pictured below with the students are clients Sylvia, Debrah and Earl having fun participating in the activity while listening to some 50's music. Thank You students everyone had so much fun. 🏓🎼🎈

On behalf of everyone here at the center we would like to express our deepest appreciation to the "Not So Pampered Chefs" for providing lunch for the clients on Friday. The clients enjoyed corn dogs, macaroni and cheese, and corn. They also enjoyed strawberry shortcake donated by one of our caregivers. Pictured below is client Betty enjoying her lunch. Everyone had full bellies and commented on how delicious it all tasted.😋🌽🌭🍰

The center would like to express our deep appreciation to Miss Kelly for sharing her gift of music with us. Miss Kelly attended on Tuesday afternoons to share her music and tell us some funny stories. She made us all laugh and we all sure enjoyed singing along with her. We all here at the center will miss her as she will be moving out of town. Miss Kelly told us she would come back to see us when she was back in town. Miss Kelly was presented a large print bible from all of us here at the center as an appreciation gift. We look forward to her coming back to visit🩷

We ended the month of September with the celebration of staff member Kyra's birthday. We all here at the center are so pleased to have Kyra as part of our center family. We enjoyed celebrating with her and we all wish her many more Happy Birthday's🎂🎊🎈🎁🩷

What a great day it turned out to be as THE WALK TO END ALZHEIMER'S was held this past Sunday at the judicial plaza downtown. The weather was perfect for the walk. We had such a great turnout as everyone came out to support this cause. Big Thank to Kara Hawk and John Alexander for all their hard work in putting the walk together. The water fountain on the square was turned purple and was beautiful. Big Thank You to Diane Dalton and her family for minding the table for the Alzheimer's Center that was set up at the walk. Thank You to everyone for your donations which helps the center continue our mission of helping those with Alzheimer's Disease. Congratulations to Diane Dalton as her ticket was drawn as the winner of the raffle gift card to Texas Roadhouse.Thank You to everyone that purchased a ticket. Until there is a cure for this disease we will continue the fight. 💜💜💜💜💜

THE WALK TO END ALZHEIMER'S is this Sunday September 27th at the judicial plaza downtown Somerset. Come out and join us as we walk to end Alzheimer's Disease. There will be a table set up at the walk accepting donations for the Alzheimer's center. We will be accepting paper products and non-perishable snack items etc... There is still time to purchase a raffle ticket for the Texas Roadhouse gift card. You can stop by the center at 125 East University Drive to get a raffle ticket. The drawing for the winner will be held this Friday morning at the center. You will be notified if your ticket is drawn. All proceeds from the raffle will go to The ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION. Hope to see everyone this Sunday at the walk. 💜

September 21st, WORLD ALZHEIMER'S DAY!!! This is a disease that is worldwide and the number of people affected by it is growing rapidly every day. For all those battling and for all those that have lost their battle we will continue our fight to end this disease. 💜
