Kenai North Beach, 600 S. Spruce Street
You're invited!
We're releasing the last two remaining rehabilitated harbor seals of the season, and you're invited! Join us in Kenai, Alaska to watch harbor seals Stanley Sealton and Ester return to the ocean, and they both have incredible stories:
Stanley Sealton received his name from students at Seward Elementary School after they submitted ideas and voted through a penny war fundraiser that raised more than $300 for the ASLC Wildlife Response Program! Thank you to the students, teachers, and community members who helped welcome Stanley Sealton into care while supporting marine mammal response in Alaska.
Getting Ester to the ASLC took a village, a plane and a team of dedicated responders this June. Thank you to the Tyonek Tribal Conservation District who helped recover her, a family who first reported her (and also happened to be pilots traveling back to Anchorage that day), and the volunteers who provided transportation on the final leg of her journey from Anchorage to Seward.
Their successful rehabilitation and release is a celebration of strong partnerships across Alaska, coming together to care for marine life. We hope you can join us!
