Mission Statement
Our name says it all. At SOLVE Alaska, we strive to help our veteran warriors.

Serving Our Loved Veterans Everyday, with financial, food and shelter needs and giving them the opportunity to connect with the Alaskan wilderness in many ways. Our services include the needs of veterans, Active Duty military, spouses and children of such, in a multitude of ways. Including, but not limited to:

Financial Hardship grants
Payments for roof and driveway snow clearing
Emergency home repairs
Food Sustainability (groceries/staples)
One time rental or Mortgage assistance
Temporary housing
Emergency vehicle repair
Limited transportation
Family Emergencies
Resources for Medical, Dental, Vision and counseling
PTSD spouse support
Death Doula Services
limited ASL interpretation
Connecting vets to other organizations for services we may not provide
ALASKAN Outdoor Activities including:
Fishing / Ice fishing / hunting / trapping / hiking / XC skiing / downhill skiing
Snowmachine (snowmobile) tours and riding / dog sledding / camping
Sightseeing / glacier tours / bear viewing / gold mining / BB-Qing
Companionship / Spiritual, Mental and Physical health
Any unforeseen need for our veteran warriors and their family

We have a Vietnam Era veteran who is in need of a vehicle. He prefers a pick up but would take anything he can get, just to get around.
He has a budget of 1500-1750.

Thank you to everyone who came out to welcome our peninsula veterans home tonight form their honor flight to DC.!
Special thank you to VFW post 10046 and American Legion post 20 Honor Guard for always showing up!!!
Thank you Grant Aviation for safely carrying our veterans home.

Remember, this Saturday night the 10th at Kenai Airport at 5:45 PM, join us to welcome home our peninsula veterans who have been in DC this week on The Last Frontier Honor Flight.
One veteran is a member of the Combat Vets Motorcycle Association (river krew) here on the peninsula. Motorcycle clubs, groups and associations are encouraged to welcome home our brothers.
Please bring a welcome home sign if you can.
If you are a former honor flight participant, please wear your jacket.

Please join us on Saturday October 10th at 6:00PM at the Kenai airport to welcome home our peninsula veterans and guardians on Mission 23 Honor Flight.
They will depart for DC on Monday the 5th at 3:00 PM if anyone wants to give them a send off as well.
We hope to see you on the 10th.

Come join us this weekend Friday and Saturday night at Twin Cities Raceway on the Spur Hwy. Our President, Butch will be driving the number 22 legend car. This car, provided by Navarro Solutions / Frankie and Jackie Navarro of Operation Iron Warrior. A program that puts veterans behind the wheel of this race car.
We are excited to have a Solve Alaska represented car!
Also, the first 15 veterans on each night will get in FREE, courtesy of Solve Alaska.
Come join us as we celebrate our veterans and honor our lost Americans on 9/11.
Qualifying at 3 and racing at 5.
Side Note: Many years ago, as a kid, Butch raced under the name "Bitchin Butch" a name his mom was not fond of and forced him to remove from his helmet. Today, he says his mom is too old and too far away to get him with the wooden spoon! 😆 So he will return to racing this weekend under that old name.

We have a veteran in need. Her relatively new home has some issues and she will need a rental for the winter. Single female veteran with a service dog. We can vouch for this veteran as a positive tenant.
If you know of a nice, clean, reasonable rental locally, please message us and let us know.

Today, we had the privilege of helping a veteran. We do that a lot. Today seemed different though. He and his family were in need of stovepipe. I met him at Spenard Builders Supply. We got the pipe and were ready to part ways. As he thanked me, a huge wave of emotion came over him. He was working hard to contain himself. I told him, let it out brother. He said, " this is our first home, I can't thank you enough for your kindness". I told him, "You earned this. You paid for everything with your service to our country." His emotions were raw, unfiltered and genuine. His appreciation was powerful and overwhelming to me. These are the days that I like what we do.

We need to give one of our supporters/volunteers a huge shout out. We were recently contacted by a veteran who needed a carport but was not able to build it himself. We sent our guy Chad Sproul to serve our veteran. Today he completed it and the veteran is very happy and it will serve him well this winter.
If you see Chad around town, give him a pat on the back and say, "well done"! for supporting our local veterans !

16 years ago today our country lost Christopher Eastman, USMC.
A true American hero. We honor Christopher today at the 9th annual salute to Vets sponsored by Southern Peninsula ABATE .
