Today, we had the privilege of helping a veteran. We do that a lot. Today seemed different though. He and his family were in need of stovepipe. I met him at Spenard Builders Supply. We got the pipe and were ready to part ways. As he thanked me, a huge wave of emotion came over him. He was working hard to contain himself. I told him, let it out brother. He said, " this is our first home, I can't thank you enough for your kindness". I told him, "You earned this. You paid for everything with your service to our country." His emotions were raw, unfiltered and genuine. His appreciation was powerful and overwhelming to me. These are the days that I like what we do.
