This month's event is Couching our Handspun with Kathy:

Want another fun way to use smaller bits of handspun? Interested in adding texture to embroidery? In this month's program, Kathy will show how to couch your yarn onto fabric for embroidery and slow stitch projects. All supplies for the base will be supplied.

Bring: a small ball of handspun
Small, sharp scissors
Good close-up glasses!

If you have a project you want to embellish, feel free to bring it.

Join us on Tuesday, May 19th, for a Tea Party! Wear your most festive floral hat, bring your teacup, and some finger foods to share.
Our librarian, Marion, has put out a call for book donations - please check your bookshelves and bring in your (post 2005) fiber arts-related books that you're willing to part with. She has also asked for volunteers to help her cull some of the older books. Arrive a bit early this month and/or next if you'd like to help her.

Holiday Potluck - happening at our JANUARY meeting!

We invite all attendees to join us this December for our Holiday Potluck Party! The party will take place during our December Guild meeting. Everyone is welcome to bring a dish, snack, dessert, or non-alcoholic drink. As a courtesy to any attendees with allergies (such as chocolate, nuts, food coloring/Red Dye 40, wheat/gluten, corn, etc.), please bring a list of all ingredients in your recipe/contribution. 3 by 5 cards and pens will be available for labeling dishes.

We have the plates, napkins, cups, and utensils covered! If
you need a larger serving utensil for your dish, please consider bringing one with you! We will also be offering our usual array of hot drinks.

In addition to our annual potluck, we host a gift exchange for
members. If you wish to participate, please bring a wrapped
gift. In general, we recommend gifts not be expensive (range
of approximately $25) and be fiber and/or crafting-related. For those with allergies, it would be helpful if items with food or other potential allergens were labeled so that they don’t go home with anyone who can’t eat them. There will be time for some exchanging gifts, but we won't be doing a white elephant-style exchange.
Finally, we will be having a basket-weaving activity during the meeting! We will be learning to make small willow baskets.

Our November meeting (next Tuesday, November 18th) is our Destash Sale! Members will be selling items related to the fiber arts, and the public is invited to shop. Only current members may sell - please contact Kathy C. to reserve your table. Shoppers are encouraged to bring cash to make their purchases.
