As a co-sponsor in the Pride Parade, the Snohomish Lion’s Club was proud to march on Saturday the 6th of June. The Lions have marched in all 4 Pride Parades, which started in 2022. We also had a photo booth with Club information and stickers and small toys to hand out. There was co****le for the kids to play plus temporary tatoos. It was a very inclusive day, with lots of fun and love despite the wet conditions.

We were honored to attend the Senior Awards night at Glacier Peak High School on May 30th. Our first Lion’s scholarship was awarded to Aiden Nolan, for his excellent school work, to use at his choice of Trade schools, to become a Lineman. Good luck Aiden in all you’ll do in your bright future. Our second worthy recepient is Amber Perkins, who started her own business and will use her scholarship to attend trade school for a Welding certification. Good luck Amber in all you do in the future, we can’t wait to see all that you accomplish. Our third GP Scholarship, in conjunction with the first Dale H. Deierling Memorial Scholarship, goes to another deserving student, Garrick Ravo, who has an inspiring interest in elevators. Garrick will use his scholarship to help fund Trade school for elevator maintenance. Good luck Garrick, we are sure you’ll excel in your chosen career! Our 4th and final scholarship went to Tyler Zoer, who unfortunately was not in attendance on Awards night. Good luck with your continuing education at Everett Community College Tyler, in pursuit of machining and welding, we are sure you’ll do great things in your future.

We hosted a Top Scholar dinner for 31 Valedictorians from our 3 local High Schools (Snohomish, Glacier Peak, and AIM) along with their families on Monday, April 20th. It was wonderful to hear about all the accomplishments of these amazing students. Dinner was provided and served by Snohomish El Paraiso. Cake was served afterward. A good time was had by all. Fellow Lions did a great job organising, planning and putting on this welcome event.

On April 6, we held our monthly Lions meeting at El Paraiso in Snohomish. We wanted to thank the owner Enrique & his son Marco for being wonderful sponsers of several Lion’s events, over the years. We presented Marco (in his father’s absence) with a framed thank you note. We also inducted two new members on the night. Susan Forbes, who I sponsored and Aelyn Board, who Ed Poquette sponsored. We know these two new members will be welcome additions to our club, and are prepared to serve our community where needed.

We were privileged and honored to walk in the Snohomish Parade on Saturday the 4th of April with the Snohomish Food Bank. The Snohomish Food Bank provides much needed help for people in our community and Lions are proud to be able to support them throughout the year with donations from our fund raisers. It was a fun time handing out candy to kids, and making people aware that their neighborhood food bank is there when needed.

Every year third graders from Cathcart, Dutch Hill, Riverview and Seattle Hill Elementary Schools look forward to Dictionary Delivery Day by the Lions. Committee Chair Bob Taylor made the event special with his famous Lion’s roar during distribution. 2026 was Bob’s last year with our club. We appreciate Bob and his work here and wish him the best as he moves to California and joins a new club. Thank you for your service Bob.
