TTA serves as a liaison between Tennessee, regional, and national theatre organizations. TTA strives to grow and improve theatre arts in Tennessee!

On September 7 & 8, 1968, over two hundred theatre artists met in Crossville, Tennessee for the first Tennessee Theatre Association conference. With a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission, those first members founded TTA, elected the late Paul Crabtree as their first president, and began a legacy of promoting theatre at the highest standards across the state. Today, TTA strives to live up to the hopes and dreams of those founding members. Through workshops, festivals, networking opportunities, and professional screening auditions, the annual TTA conference continues to bring theatre practitioners from across the state together. TTA Conference 2021
This project was supported, in part, by federal award number SLFRP5534 awarded to the State of Tennessee by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
