We’re live! Pastor Jordan Boyce is preaching on Midnight Worship.

:memo: Notes: Paul and Silas had done the right thing, yet they found themselves beaten, chained, and locked in the innermost part of a prison. At midnight, they chose to pray and sing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. Suddenly, an earthquake shook the foundations, opened the doors, and unfastened everyone’s chains. Their worship in suffering became a witness that pointed the jailer to Jesus. The darker the night becomes, the more meaningful the worship.

:dove_of_peace: Key Highlights:
• What happens to you does not have to decide what comes out of you.
• Midnight worship means trusting through tears, praising through pain, and crying out even when you’re confused.
• True worship flows from who we are, not what is happening around us.
• When you don’t know what words to use, use His Word. Read a Psalm, personalize it, and pray it out loud.
• Never underestimate the witness of your worship. Your response to hardship can point your family, friends, and children to Jesus.
• Choose worship even when the situation hasn’t changed, because He is worthy either way.
• God can use the shaking to reveal what needs His attention, open doors for ministry, and bring freedom.
• Paul stayed when he could have escaped to help someone else in their midnight hour.
• What have you accepted as permanent that God wants to release?
• Worship Jesus in hard seasons, trust Him with the outcome, and let your response point others to Him.

Notes: The Bereans received the Word with eagerness, examined the Scriptures carefully, and searched them daily. Their example shows us what it means to build our lives on God’s Word. They were teachable enough to receive something new and discerning enough to test whether it was true. As we celebrate Awakening Christian Academy’s first month, we’re reminded that Scripture belongs at the foundation of our classrooms, our homes, and our lives. If we want to grow in faith, we must grow in the Word of God.

️ Key Highlights:
• The Word of God is the foundation we build everything on. It determines what we believe and how we live.
• The Bereans demonstrated three qualities: eagerness, discernment, and diligence.
• Don’t check the Bible against your opinions. Check your opinions against the Bible.
• A humble, teachable heart allows God’s Word to challenge our beliefs and change our lives.
• A closed mind receives nothing. A gullible mind receives everything. A noble mind receives eagerly and tests carefully.
• Confidence does not equal truth. Charisma does not equal credibility. Viral does not equal verified.
• Scripture interprets Scripture. Read in context and test what you hear against the whole counsel of God’s Word.
• Sundays are a good start, but daily time in Scripture builds a lasting foundation.
• Read the Word, discuss it, share it, memorize it, pray it, and put it into practice.
• God’s Word is God-breathed, living and active, a guard for our hearts, and the sword of the Spirit.
• Jesus is the Word who became flesh. Through Him, we receive forgiveness, peace, and new life.

Notes: As Paul says farewell to the Ephesian elders, his greatest concern is finishing the course and ministry he received from Jesus. Starting strong is easy when excitement is high, but finishing well requires faith when prayers seem delayed, pressure builds, and plans fall apart. Paul’s farewell gives us a pattern for perseverance: pay attention to yourself and the people God has entrusted to you, stay alert to temptation, and remember the words of Jesus. Years later, Paul could declare, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Looking to Jesus gives us the strength to finish our course, too.

Key Highlights:
• It is not how you start, but how you finish that is the measure of success.
• Pay attention to yourself. Take responsibility for your attitudes and actions, examining your own heart before shifting the blame.
• Pay attention to your flock. God has given everyone someone to care for, whether a spouse, child, friend, or member of your Crew.
• People are precious to God. Caring for those He entrusts to you is an act of faithful stewardship.
• Be alert to temptation and your areas of weakness, especially when you are hurt, angry, lonely, or tired.
• Recognize where you are struggling and invite someone to pray with you. Humility, honesty, and confession help bring hidden battles into the light.
• Remember the words of Jesus. God’s Word lights your path and directs your steps toward a life well lived.
• Keep looking to Jesus. He gives you strength to persevere, keep the faith, and finish well.

What could inspire a community to pray continuously for 100 years?

In 1727, a divided Christian community in Herrnhut, Germany, experienced a spiritual renewal that transformed its future. Under Nikolaus von Zinzendorf, reconciliation and prayer gave rise to a continuous prayer watch traditionally said to have lasted a century. The Moravian community went on to send missionaries across the world.

How could one of the most recognizable objects in the Bible simply disappear?

God used Moses’ staff to demonstrate His power, from turning it into a serpent to bringing plagues upon Egypt. It also played a role in Israel’s battle against Amalek. Yet Scripture never tells us what ultimately happened to it. Was it preserved, passed down or lost to history?

Notes: In Acts 19, God worked extraordinary miracles through Paul. The sons of Sceva tried to invoke the name of Jesus, but they knew Him only as “the Jesus whom Paul proclaims.” Their encounter revealed the difference between knowing about Jesus and knowing Him firsthand. Paul’s prayer in Philippians 3:10 gives us a response: “I want to know Christ.” Knowing Jesus transforms who we are and gives us confidence to live as the people God says we are.

️ Key Highlights:
• Paul once persecuted Christians. An encounter with the risen Jesus changed his life.
• The sons of Sceva knew Jesus’ name, but they did not know Him for themselves.
• A secondhand faith cannot replace a relationship with Christ.
• Transformation is a mark of knowing Jesus.
• When the enemy questions your identity, remember who God says you are: forgiven, loved, redeemed, and His child.
• God can work through ordinary people to reach others and bring Him glory.
• Whatever the cost, our prayer is: “I want to know Christ.”

What if the Holy Spirit wasn’t fully God?

That question divided the early church and sparked decades of debate.

In the fourth century, Basil of Caesarea and Gregory of Nazianzus defended the Holy Spirit’s divinity against those who considered Him a created being. In 381 AD, the Council of Constantinople affirmed the Holy Spirit as the Lord and giver of life, worshiped and glorified with the Father and the Son.

WE’RE LIVE! What if God has been revealing Himself to you in more ways than you realize?

Pastor Jordan Boyce is continuing our Acts of the Apostles series with The Unknown God, preaching from Acts 17:22–34. Paul walked into a city searching for God without truly knowing Him and declared that the God they were looking for was closer than they thought.

Wherever you’re watching from, join us as we look to Jesus, the One who makes the unknown God known.

:memo: Notes: Paul stood in the heart of Athens surrounded by altars, idols, philosophy and religion, yet the people still did not know the God they were searching for. Pointing to their altar “To the unknown god,” Paul proclaimed that the God they were reaching for was not far from them. God uses the world around us to point us toward Jesus, and through Jesus, He reveals Himself. Jesus is the image of the invisible God. If you want to know what God is like, look to Christ. And the ultimate assurance of who Jesus is comes through the resurrection. Christianity ultimately confronts each of us with the same question Jesus asked Martha: “Do you believe this?”

• The Athenians knew gods, religion, philosophy and worship, but they did not know Jesus.
• Creation points to the Creator, art points to the Artist and the shadow points to the One casting it.
• God meets people in ways they can recognize. Our passions, relationships, creation, joys, struggles and questions can all point us toward Him.
• Paul declares that God “is actually not far from each one of us.” Like feeling your way through an unfamiliar room toward the door, God is closer than we may realize.
• The goal is not simply to know about God, but to know Him and be known by Him.
• Jesus is the Man who makes the unknown God known. He is “the image of the invisible God.”
• If you want to know the personality of God, look at the person of Jesus: the Father who runs toward the prodigal, the One who touches the l***r, lifts the paralyzed and opens the eyes of the blind.
• Jesus said, “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.”
• Pilate presented Jesus to the crowd and declared, “Behold the Man!” The question for us is: Have you beheld Him?
• When you are stung by sin, bitten by betrayal or caught in the stranglehold of shame, look to Jesus.
• Paul points Athens beyond philosophy and religion to the resurrection. God has given assurance of who Jesus is by raising Him from the dead.
• Christianity ultimately comes down to more than believing Jesus was a good man, moral teacher or prophet. Do you believe He is God?
• Jesus told Martha, “I am the resurrection and the life,” and then asked her, “Do you believe this?” That same question remains for us today.
• Jesus died, was buried and rose again. The resurrection changes every decision that follows.
• If the tomb is not empty, we are fools. But if it is empty, we are free indeed.
