The Foundation's primary focus is on improving the recreational trails in the Siouxland area, including Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota.

We continue to work with local governments and other organizations on recreational trail plans and endorsements, and are conducting a survey of area streets and highways designated as bike routes. Keep an eye on our "trail" - or better yet, become a part of its "concrete" - there's more to come!

One last ride. One more challenge. One awesome way to wrap up the season!

Join us at Cone Park in Sioux City for the Mountain Bike Send Off — a celebration of trails, competition, and community as we close out another great mountain biking season.

What's happening?
• Longest Ride Competition: Rack up the miles and see who can ride the farthest!
• Time Trial Competition: Take on the course and chase your fastest time.
• Guided Group Rides: Hit the color-coded trails with guided groups for an exciting ride and a chance to explore.

We posted about this a few days ago, but here is more info.

The trail, which was damaged by flooding in 2024, will be closed until further notice, the Woodbury County Conservation Board said in a news release. ⤵️ Find a link to the story in the comments.

The Union Bridge Trail at Little Sioux Park will be closed starting Friday, October 9, 2026 (until further notice), for repairs to damage caused by the 2024 flooding. Thank you for your patience as we work to restore the trail.

Iowa Data Bike The Iowa Data Bike is an initiative by the Des Moines Area MPO in partnership with the Iowa Department of Public Health and the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation. Using an app that senses the roughness of pavement, the Data Bike generates a score for the roughness condition of trails.....

Unfortunately, because of the current and forecasted rain, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Sioux City Showdown. We know this is disappointing, and we’re grateful for everyone’s flexibility as we prioritize the safety of our athletes, coaches, volunteers, and trails.

We’ll see everyone at the Branched Oak Braaaap in just a little over two weeks! 🚲 We’re looking forward to getting back on the trails and finally getting to race together!

🚨 Calling all volunteers! 🚨
The Sioux City Showdown is coming up on Sunday, September 27, and we need your help to make it a success! 🙌

We’re looking for lots of volunteers on Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, with a variety of positions available. Yes, some involve being on a bike, but most do not! 🚲

From course marshals and crossing guards to exit chute support and merch tent staffing, there are plenty of ways to get involved. Whether you’re a cycling enthusiast or just want to lend a hand, we have a spot for you!

A potential win for trails and connectivity in Sioux City!

If you're not familiar with the property, the former Verschoor meat plant sits between the Seaboard Triumph Expo Center and the Chautauqua Trail.

The City of Sioux City’s purchase of this property could significantly improve the area around the trail connection. Right now, the route between the Expo Center and the Chautauqua Trailhead along Expo Center Drive can feel a little awkward, particularly as you travel through what has historically been an industrial property.

With this property now in the City’s hands, there are opportunities to create a much better connection and improve the overall experience for people walking and riding in the area.

We’re looking forward to seeing what the future holds for this property and will keep you updated as plans develop. Good trail connections are an important part of building a more connected Sioux City!

Good to see so many people at the North Sioux trail ribbon cutting this morning. Our tri-state trail system is already a big deal and is only getting bigger and better! It’s a beautiful day to get out on the trails!
