Extra copies of the Island Lake Yearbook will be available for purchase from Monday, June 1- Friday, June 5, on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.

If you would like to purchase a yearbook, please send:
$20 cash (exact change only), or
A check payable to “IL Island Lake PTA

Please place payment in an envelope labeled with:
Your child’s name
“Yearbook 2026”

The Island Lake Science Fair is April 14th and 15th!

We have 300 young scientists signed up for the Island Lake Science Fair and could use more volunteers.

To the Island Lake Community -

It is with deep sadness and regret that the ILPTA and school administration have made the decision to postpone our International Night event.

While we would love nothing more than to bring together representatives of the diverse and vibrant cultures that make our community so wonderful, the safety of our community is of greatest concern.

The Island Lake community is kind, welcoming, and generous. People at Island Lake care about each other and the greater community. We are working together to develop good kids. None of that changes based on the decision to hold or not hold an event.

Take care of yourselves and your people. We will share more information as appropriate about a rescheduled event.

In just two days, we have collected over 300 pounds of food and home goods at school for the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf!

The generosity of this community is so heartening. Thank you!!!

We still have two more school days to collect! Bring diapers (5/6), soap, TP, and non-perishable food to the front of ILE this week and we will drop it off at Ralph Reeder for you!

Know Your Rights: New Resources for Immigrant Parents and Caregivers

The National Immigration Law Center and Center for Law and Social Policy jointly developed a resource for immigrant parents and caregivers which details the rights that parents and caregivers have while being apprehended and detained. Under its own policies, ICE has a responsibility to ensure that detained parents and caregivers have a say in the care of their children and keeping them safe.

Unsure how to talk to your children about what is happening with immigration enforcement? The Immigrant Family Mental Health Advocacy (IFMHA) Program at the Institute for Juvenile Research at UIC co-created a brochure for parents and caregivers that details how families can prepare, support, communicate, heal and continue to be resilient. https://tinyurl.com/2v4c7jr2
