Have you heard the good news?

At the Rotary District 6150 Conference last weekend, the Rotary Club of Sherwood was honored with several major awards. Our club was named Club of the Year in the Medium Club Division and received the District Governor’s Citation Award.

We are especially proud of two of our own members who were recognized for their outstanding leadership and service. Pam McElrath was named Club President of the Year, and Kristy Brasfield was honored as Rotarian of the Year.

Sherwood Rotary Charter Member Guinn Massey was recognized for his decades is service, leadership, and and commitment to the Four Way Test.

These recognitions reflect the dedication, generosity, and spirit of service demonstrated by our members throughout the year. We are also proud to be the home club of our 2025–26 District Governor, Michelle Oglesby.

Congratulations to everyone who helped make this an award-winning year for Sherwood Rotary. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our community and honored to be recognized alongside so many outstanding Rotary clubs across the district.

From academic achievement and leadership to character, integrity, and service to others, these students represent the very best of our community and give us great hope for the future.

Congratulations to all of this year’s scholarship recipients and ethics award winners. We are incredibly proud of you and excited to see the impact you will make in the years ahead.

A special thank you to the families, teachers, counselors, and administrators who help guide and encourage these remarkable young people every day.

Help keep Sherwood safe by cleaning out your medicine cabinet.

Sherwood Rotary will be helping with National Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 25, from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM. Bring your expired, unused, or unwanted prescription medications for safe disposal.

You can drop off medications at either of these parking lot locations:

• Walmart Neighborhood Market
• CHI St. Vincent North

Look for the Sherwood Rotary volunteers in the parking lots at both locations. Safe disposal helps prevent misuse, accidental poisoning, and keeps medications out of our water supply.
