What an awesome day! Today was the culmination of a ten year process. I watched my wife cast her ballot as an American Citizen for the first time. This has been a time consuming and expensive process to say the least. As someone who was lucky enough to be born here, I have often taken this right for granted. Being a part of this struggle, with an imigrant doing it the right way, has made me appreciate my rights so much more. Ten years, thousands of dollars, and countless hours dealing with immigration, all so Lorn James Alexander could make me prouder to be an American. I Love you baby and am so proud of you!

The weekend shamble is back in full swing. As always the staff at Cypress Creek in Cabot welcomes military and veterans with open arms. The cost to play is $45 this covers your green fee and your cart. Then you will need $10 in cash to get in the game. A Shamble is where everyone on a team tees off and then you go to the best drive and play your on ball in from there. We card all scores and deduct handicaps. Low teal wins the pot. Hope to see you all on Saturday at 1 pm.

For those who are interested, VETGOLF has partnered with Cypress Creek Golf Club in Cabot to provide a free golf outing on Veteran’s Day for Active Duty, Veterans, or dependents. The show time is 10 am with a free lunch and free drinks including alcoholic beverages while playing. We have 20 spots left. If you are interested email [email protected] with your name and phone number. Someone will reply confirming that you were one of the 20 selected. Underage drinking will not be tolerated and IDs will be checked for all free alcoholic beverages.

The 2nd annual Tin Cup 2-Person Scramble at Cypress Creek Golf Club has been scheduled. The field will be restricted to a max of 39 teams. This event filled up very fast last year with over 20 teams on the stand-by list. If any of you have a company that would like to hole sponsor the cost is $350. For that you get a team in the event and a hole sponsorship in your company name. VetGolf is a 501C3 organization so your sponsorship is tax deductible.

To all of those who follow this page, VetGolf is officially ready to begin taking on members. This will be a growing process and we will have our ups and downs but we are now a go. If you are a Veteran that plays golf in the Central Arkansas area please proceed to VetGolf.org and sign-up for membership.

1. After registration requirements are met, you will be sent a round of Golf for

A. Cypress Creek in Cabot AR that can be used Monday - Friday tee time required. ($42.50 value)

B. Country Club of Arkansas in Maumelle AR that can be used Monday - Friday tee time required. ($40.00 value)

2. Access to the members only area where rounds of golf are placed in the store for check-out use by our members.

3. Discounts that are provided by our sponsors for their venues, services, and eateries.

VetGolf is still looking for more Beta Testers of our Website. We will be going live with it in March. We have been getting many questions from people thinking that this must be some type of scam. Here is how it works, members pay a small membership fee and they immediately get a round of golf sent to them for use the month after membership enrollment. When they become a member they have access to the excess round database where they can get free rounds of golf. These rounds are free but donations are highly encouraged.
