Celebrating 250 Years of Freedom by Giving Back to Those Who Defended It.
Freedom isn’t free. It was earned by generations of Americans willing to stand in harm’s way for something greater than themselves.
Fishing for Freedom exists to honor that sacrifice by giving our nation’s heroes a day on the water, surrounded by people who appreciate their service and understand what they have given.
This Independence Day, we celebrate 250 years of liberty while renewing our commitment to those who defended it.
Thank you to every veteran, active-duty service member, Gold Star family, and military family. We are forever grateful.

Today, we remember a true pioneer of professional bass fishing. As a founding member of the Hemphill Gang, Harold Allen helped shape the sport and inspired generations of anglers. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and the entire fishing community.

This Memorial Day, we stand in remembrance of the heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. Their courage and legacy live on in every flag raised, every story shared, and every moment spent enjoying the freedoms they defended.

Today is not about celebration.
It is about remembrance.
It is about honor.

Yesterday was a powerful day for the ArmyBassAnglers Foundation and Fishing For Freedom—one that went far beyond just attending an event.

Our Operations lead and Fishing For Freedom Board Member, Rory Layne, represented the mission at the screening of Sheepdog. This film captures the real and often unseen challenges veterans face when transitioning back to civilian life, while also highlighting the strength found in Post Traumatic Growth—something we see firsthand through the veterans we serve.

With our ABA-wrapped Skeeter boat and truck on display, we were able to bring visibility not just to the brand, but to the cause—opening doors for conversations, connections, and continued outreach.

More importantly, this wasn’t just about showing up—it was about moving the mission forward. The event gave us the opportunity to work through key pieces of planning for this year’s Fishing For Freedom event, continuing to build what has become one of the most impactful veteran outreach efforts in the country.

A true highlight was spending time with Will Summers, a member of ODA 595—the Special Forces team whose story inspired the film 12 Strong. Being able to connect with someone who lived that history brings a deeper level of meaning to everything we do. Will and his teammates continue that legacy today through Horse Soldier Bourbon. Rory was also coined during the event, a recognition that speaks volumes about the respect he’s earned and the leadership he brings to this mission.

This is what the Foundation is about. This is what Fishing For Freedom stands for—bringing veterans together, creating purpose, and ensuring that no one has to navigate the road after service alone.

We’re not just hosting an event.
We’re building a community.
