🇺🇸🎣 FISHING FOR FREEDOM 2026 — PHOTO DUMP! 🎣🇺🇸

What a weekend!

These photos only capture a small piece of what makes Fishing for Freedom so special. It’s not just about fishing—it’s about bringing our military community together, building friendships, making memories, and giving back to the men and women who have given so much for all of us.

And this year, we had one heck of a last-minute surprise!

Brian Bird, the brains behind the WBE The Champions event, stepped up with an incredible surprise for one of our veterans—a VIP Gold Package to The Champions, airfare AND a $300 gift card! 🇺🇸🏆

Congratulations to Van, the lucky veteran whose name was drawn! What an awesome surprise and an incredible way to cap off the weekend.

Brian, THANK YOU! This wasn’t something that had been planned for months. It came together at the last minute because Brian wanted to do something special for one of our veterans. That’s what this community is all about.

From registration and dinner to safe light, weigh-in, awards, and all the moments in between, Fishing for Freedom 2026 was one for the books.

Thank you to every boater, non-boater, volunteer, sponsor, partner, and supporter who helped make it happen. Most importantly, thank you to our active-duty service members and veterans who joined us.

Scroll through the photo dump, tag yourself and your buddies, and share your favorite memories! 📸👇

🎣🇺🇸 FISHING FOR FREEDOM 2026 — WHAT A DAY! 🇺🇸🎣

Saturday’s Fishing for Freedom tournament is officially in the books, and once again this event proved that it is about so much more than the number on the scale.

🏆 Congratulations to our 2026 Champions!

But one of the coolest stories of the entire weekend came from our winning co-angler.

For SIX YEARS, this Warrior has driven more than 1,000 miles from out west to be part of Fishing for Freedom. Year after year, he has made that long trip, showed up, supported the event, climbed into a boat and kept coming back.

This year, he finally got the WIN. 🏆🇺🇸

Six years. More than 1,000 miles each way. And finally, a Fishing for Freedom Champion.

That is what this event is all about.

It isn’t just fishing or winning a trophy. It’s the friendships, the camaraderie, the commitment and the people who continue showing up year after year to be part of something bigger than themselves.

Congratulations to all of our winners and everyone who competed Saturday. And THANK YOU to every boater, Warrior, volunteer, sponsor and supporter who made another Fishing for Freedom possible.

🚨 UPDATED REGISTRATION — WE STILL NEED 18 BOATERS! 🚨

We’re almost there! With Fishing for Freedom just days away, we currently have 12 more non-boaters than boaters registered.

Nobody is getting left behind. We will double up where necessary to make sure everyone gets on the water — but that’s not the experience we’re trying to provide.

Our goal is simple: one boater paired with one service member.

🎣 12 MORE BOATERS = NO DOUBLING UP.

Fishing for Freedom is our opportunity to give back to the men and women who serve our country. They’ve answered the call for us. Now we need 12 more members of the fishing community to answer the call for them.

If you have a boat and can participate, NOW is the time to step up. If you can’t fish, SHARE THIS POST and help us reach someone who can.

📅 Registration Dinner: October 2, 1700— Killeen Convention Center
🎣 Tournament: October 3 Safe Light - 1400— Belton Lake

📋 UPDATED REGISTRATION LIST:

We are down to the final 12. Let’s close the gap and give every non-boater the one-on-one Fishing for Freedom experience this event was built around.

🇺🇸 A HUGE THANK YOU TO ARTEMIS ELECTRONICS! 🇺🇸

Fishing for Freedom is about giving back to the men and women who serve our country, and partners like Artemis Electronics help us make that mission possible.

Because of their incredible support, Artemis Electronics is responsible for us being able to give away a Bonafide XTR 130 kayak to one deserving NONBOATER who is currently serving on Active Duty or in the National Guard!

That’s right — this giveaway is specifically for one of our NONBOATERS. One current-serving service member is going home from Fishing for Freedom with an incredible Bonafide XTR 130!

We cannot put on an event of this magnitude without companies willing to step up and invest in our service members. Artemis Electronics did exactly that, and we’re proud to have them supporting the Fishing for Freedom mission.

Please help us show them some love and thank them for standing behind those who continue to serve!

🇺🇸 FISHING FOR FREEDOM UPDATE — WE STILL NEED 30 BOATERS! 🎣

Here’s the current list for Fishing for Freedom 2026.

We’ve made progress, but we are still 30 BOATERS SHORT.

This is where we need everyone to do their part.

Fishing for Freedom is about giving back to the men and women who have given so much in service to our country. These Soldiers are counting on us to put a boat underneath them and give them a day on the water they won’t forget.

We cannot leave anyone standing on the sidelines because we didn’t have enough boats.

If you have a boat and can participate, we need you. If you’re already registered, help us recruit another boater. Call a buddy. Share this post. Reach out to your club, your tournament partners, and anyone you know who can step up.

30 more boats. That’s the mission. Let’s get it done.

Twenty-five years ago, America changed forever.

Today, Fishing For Freedom remembers the innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the men and women who answered our nation’s call in the years that followed.

Their courage and sacrifice are part of the reason Fishing For Freedom exists—to honor those who serve and bring our military community together through the outdoors.

We remember them today. We honor them always.
