🥧 WHO’S TAKING THE PIE? YOU DECIDE! 🥧

https://girlsincshelby.ejoinme.org/pieintheface

Throughout the month of October, we’re putting the FUN in fundraising with our Pie in the Face Fundraiser!

Here’s how it works: every dollar you donate is a vote for the Girls Inc. staff member you want to see get a pie in the face. The more you give, the more votes you cast!

It’s a fun way to support Girls Inc. while giving our staff a little extra motivation to rally their coworkers, friends, family, and supporters. 😉

And the best part? Your donation still makes a real impact. Every gift helps Girls Inc. provide girls with programs, experiences, and opportunities that help them grow strong, smart, and bold.

So, who do YOU want to see get pied?

In Ag in the Class this month, girls learned all about cows, including where they live, what they can and can’t eat, their anatomy and organ systems, how to care for them, and the basic necessities they need to thrive. 🐄

A special shoutout to Maddie Huntsman for leading this month’s Ag in the Class program and teaching our girls all about Highland cattle! And a huge thank you to Tori Muldoon and her parents for bringing their Highland cow, Naomi, for the girls to meet in person.

After learning so much about cows, getting to see and interact with a real one was definitely a highlight! We’re so proud of all the curiosity, effort, and enthusiasm our girls brought to the program this month.

Several members of our leadership team are in Washington, D.C. this week for Girls Inc. !

It’s a great opportunity to learn from other Girls Inc. affiliates, share ideas, build connections, and bring new inspiration back to our work serving girls across our communities.

We’re also excited to celebrate some of our fellow Indiana Girls Inc. affiliates and leaders who were recognized today!

Congratulations to Girls Inc. of Jefferson County on being named Small Budget Affiliate of the Year!

We also want to congratulate Tai Muldoon of Girls Inc. of Wayne County and Sydney Stewart of Girls Inc. of Johnson County, who were recognized for their work as Girls Inc. alumnae and the impact they continue to make through their affiliates.

And a special congratulations to Kelly Royer from Girls Inc. of Jackson County, who was honored with a Character Award, recognizing her embodiment of the values and qualities that make up the Character pillar of the Girls Inc. experience. We’re so proud to see Kelly recognized for the positive impact she makes every day!

We’re proud to be part of such a strong network of organizations and leaders working together to make a difference for girls!

For September, girls participated in a self-esteem lesson featuring the book The Reflection in Me. Each girl took part in a discussion and created her own mirror filled with positive messages celebrating her inner and outer beauty.

Mental Health Parent Memos were also sent home with the girls. Parents who provide feedback to our Director of Behavior and Social Resources, Ricca Macklin, will be entered for a chance to win a dinner for their family from a local restaurant!
