One of my biggest fears going into foster care over 10 years ago wasn’t the birth parents, the sleepless nights or the many unknowns necessarily.

One of my biggest fears going into foster care was failing the children I’d be caring for somehow. As if their success depended on me. I also was fearful of what these children may bring into my home. I’d be lying if I said otherwise.

Sometimes we give ourselves too much credit for things and sometimes we don’t quite comprehend the magnitude of control God has in this world.
God is never asking us to BE EVERYTHING for a child or to save every child! That would be impossible.

He simply wants to use us! In big ways and in smalls!

However, if our view of HIS children starts with seeing/fearing their trauma instead of seeing THEM… we do not have an accurate view of His children.

God looks at US and ALL of our trauma and he literally says, “I choose you. I want you. Flaws, brokenness, hurts, bad habits, addictions, etc. I choose that child— as is!”

And that’s exactly what we should do for these children experiencing foster care.

Yes, there are messy situations. There are ugly behaviors. But if there is ONE thing I have learned in 10 years of fostering it’s that God will never leave you to do it alone.

He has shown up in ways I couldn’t have expected. Sometimes it’s God showing up through my husband, sometimes it’s God showing up through one of my other kids, sometimes it’s God showing up through a friend, sometimes it’s God himself speaking through His Word, etc. However it is… HE IS THERE! He is working in and through me and He will do the same with you!

If you are considering stepping into foster care, I encourage you to step into it EXPECTANT of what God will do in your life.

Im so grateful that God saw me and chose me. And I just desire to do that with His children, all the days of my life!

We know summers are FULL and BUSY!

However, we hope that you can make it to one of our Summer prayer nights if you are local or close to Cleveland County!

If you are NOT local and would still like to participate, pick one of the dates, set a timer in your phone and PRAY WITH US during that time!

This is a simple, yet powerful way you can be a part of foster care! We hope you will come & we look forward to seeing you there!

We are so excited about this new opportunity to partner with our local DSS to create a space that is warm, welcoming and safe for children entering into the foster care system!

If you feel led to help us get this house furnished with things we need inside and out, please use the QR code pictured (in the second photo) to purchase those items through our Amazon Wish List!

We do have larger furniture items that are needed that we cant get off of Amazon and so if you desire to help with any of those items, please reach out to us personally and we can share what those items are and how you can help!

We are so grateful to you guys for your love and care for children in foster care as well as your support of One More One Less Project! Please reach out with any questions you may have!

The home will need to be ready and fully furnished within the next month. We will also have a few ongoing ways to partner and volunteer in the coming weeks so continue to check back here for updates on that!

Each year at “The One” annual golf tournament, we pause to celebrate a story that reminds us why this work matters so much.

This year, we’re honored to introduce you to The One Family.

Sometimes “The One” starts with a whisper you can’t ignore.

For Daniel and Andrea, it showed up everywhere… at church, through friends, In quiet moments they couldn’t shake.

Three days after saying yes to foster care, two little boys entered their home—
carrying questions, confusion, and a story still being written.

After years of loving, waiting, and trusting God…
those boys are now forever theirs. Officially adopted!

This is just a glimpse of their story. And it’s a huge reason why we do what we do.

For The One.

Because every child matters. Every story matters.
And sometimes… saying yes changes everything.

If you’re joining us at the tournament this year, you’ll get to hear more of their story so check out The One booklets in your golf cart this year—and see firsthand the impact your support makes.

If you are NOT joining us for the Golf Tournament this year but would like to support us anyway, we would welcome that and would be happy to send you a booklet! Just comment below and someone will reach out to you from our team!

We are a little over a week out from our Golf Tournament and just feel so beyond grateful to each and every person who supports the mission God has given us!

We’ve been working on something really special… and it’s hard to fully put into words what this home means.

I still remember sitting in my living room talking with a friend about a dream I had for ministry houses! We prayed over it in 2020 & it became a reality the very next year. The vision was maybe a little different than I thought it would be but God knew exactly what he was doing and still does!

For the past several years, “Not Far From Home” has been used as a year long discipleship home—walking alongside teens aging out of foster care and birth moms working toward reunification. And it has been so rewarding.

But after much prayer and conversations with our local Department of Social Services, we became aware of another need right here in our community.

There are children who can be harder to place due to a lack of available or willing homes … and many times, they have nowhere to go other than hotel rooms or DSS offices while they wait.

So this home is being transformed to meet that need.

A place for children to stay—
even if it’s just temporarily—
when they have nowhere else to go.

And a safe, welcoming space for family visitations.

This past week, some of our local Champion Churches showed up to serve, and it was so special to see people of all ages come together.

Yard work, cleaning, building, hauling…
everyone played a part in getting this home ready.

This home is coming together…
and we truly believe it’s going to make a huge impact for the Kingdom as it has already for the past several years!

THANK YOU to everyone who showed up this past weekend and for those who have even said you would like to sign up for our next workday! We see you & we appreciate you! The support and prayers mean SO much!
