The July 4th Parade is coming up soon! Please see information provided by the Shawsville Ruritan Club below-

In anticipation of our nation's 250th anniversary, we invite all participants to prepare their costumes and floats. Classic cars, sports teams, churches, marching bands, businesses, and other organizations are cordially invited to join.

The parade logistics are as follows: 3:15-3:30 - Participant lineup near E&E Auto on Route 460. 4:00 - Parade commencement. For participation details, please contact Barnett Carr at [email protected].

The Mighty Mustangs Football Camp is back for another summer!

This FREE camp is open to all rising 2nd–5th graders and is a great opportunity for young athletes to learn the fundamentals of football, develop their skills, and have fun in a positive environment.

Camp will be led by the coaches and players of Eastern Montgomery High School Football and will take place July 27–29 at the EMHS practice field.

Friendly Reminder to our EastMont Friends with pets- Saturday July 4th will be busy in Shawsville while we celebrate Independence Day on Oldtown Road. The noise of the parade, the concert, and the fireworks may spook your Furbabies, so here are some helpful tips!

New River Community College will be in Shawsville TOMORROW June 18th at the Meadowbrook Community Room from 3:00-7:00 pm

Drop by and learn about NRCC’s online college courses, financial aid, FREE GED program and all the resources NRCC has to extend your educational future!
Event parking is in the rear of the building and enter through the back courtyard to the community room.

THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE (AND DEVOUR) A FRIED GREEN TOMATO IS WITH BIG SPRING MILL SEASONED FLOUR-

We are elated that an important piece of our local history has returned to Elliston with the reopening of Big Spring Mill. The mill began operation in 1850 as a gristmill, and prior to it's closing in 2022 manufactured livestock feed and baking flour, including Virginia’s Best self-rising flour, seasoned flour, biscuit mix and corn meal.

You don't have to wait until The Tomato Festival on August 15th (although we do it best!) Big Spring Mill is open Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 3:30 pm. Stop buy and stock up on Virginia's BEST FLOUR!
