Continental Societies Inc., Northern Virginia Chapter Founded in 1993. A dedicated group of women committed to supporting underserved children. by Seventh National President, Dee Evelyn Mathews.

On July 31, 1993, the Northern Virginia Chapter was chartered as a chapter of the Continental Societies, Inc. The other installing officers were Kathleen Williams, National Second Vice President; Edna Calhoun, National Membership Chair; Adessa Lewis White, Regional Director. The Charter Members of the chapter were Yvette Scott Briscoe, Crystal Wallace Ford, Brenda Wilson German, Audrey Hunter Harr

Concluding this week with gratitude!
This past Sunday, September 14, 2025, eleven of us from the Northern Virginia Chapter came together in love, fellowship, and sisterhood for our annual Continental Sunday at Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Afterward, we enjoyed a delicious brunch in charming Old Town Alexandria. What a joyous blessing to spend such a beautiful morning and afternoon together!

The NoVa Continentals -Cherie Furlow, Elsie Henson & Mercedes Cook along with Retired Deputy Chief Willie Bailey and the Arlington Fire Department paid Principal Tracy Gaither and the Dr. Charles R. Drew Elementary School in Arlington, VA to deliver back to school backpacks loaded with schools supplies to the students. Wishing them a successful and safe 2025-26 school year!!!
