🚨 Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Prevention Campaign in Bariloche
This June, WWB launched a new awareness campaign focused on the risks of carbon monoxide poisoning in contexts of high energy vulnerability.
📍 The initiative began at Nehuén Peumán and Amuyen high schools —both socially managed by Fundación Gente Nueva ()— where educational workshops were held to share practical tools and strategies for prevention.
💬 The sessions featured participation from MIT D-Lab students and the WWB team, who worked alongside teachers and students to strengthen community knowledge on home safety.

This winter in Bariloche, a meaningful exchange took place between students from MIT D-Lab (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and 5th and 6th year students from Nehuén Peumán Technical School.

👥 Four MIT students, aged between 23 and 30, traveled from Boston to share their knowledge, technologies, and experiences related to Building Science and energy efficiency in vulnerable contexts.

🏠 As part of the exchange, they presented a physical model built with the same materials used in local Bariloche homes. This tool helps visualize and analyze issues related to energy deficits and explore concrete solutions to improve comfort and health in homes.

🔧 Throughout the shared days, students from both countries worked together, learning from one another and building strong connections.

🤝 An experience that highlights the value of educational exchange and international cooperation in driving real change in communities.

🙏 Thank you to Nehuén Peumán Technical School and the organization Gente Nueva for making this valuable encounter possible.
