Our Stores in Calabash and Shallotte are having a BIG End of Summer Colthing Sale while supplies last this month. All Ladies', Men's and Kids' Summer Clothing and Accessories(shoes, belts, hats, ties and scarves) are 50% OFF!!!

This week Waccamaw Center participants made bracelets for their weekly craft. With a variety of colorful beads to choose from, everyone was able to craft a unique bracelet that felt personalized to themselves. What a great activity for socializing when it's done gathered around a table!🫂

💙WALKING THROUGH GRIEF💙

Grief can be a difficult journey, but you don’t have to walk through it alone. The Brunswick Center at Supply is pleased to offer "Walking Through Grief," a supportive nine-week course that provides hope, guidance, and practical tools for those navigating grief and loss.

Facilitated by Southport Grief, this course provides a welcoming and supportive environment where participants can learn healthy ways to understand, process, and move through grief.

📅 Begins: Monday, October 5th
📅 Concludes: Monday, December 14th
⏰ Mondays | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
📍 The Brunswick Center at Supply

The course will meet each Monday throughout the nine-week program, with *no class on November 23rd*.

Interested in participating? Come by the Supply Center to register today! Our staff will be happy to help you get signed up and answer any questions you may have about the course.

Please join us in congratulating Jeff Griffin, Assistant Program Manager, and Beth Wickel, Nutrition Coordinator, at the Brunswick Center at Calabash! Both of them passed their ServSafe exam and are certified for 5 years.👏

In case you are not familiar with this certification, ServSafe is a nationally recognized food safety training and certification program designed to help food service professionals understand the proper practices for safely handling, preparing, and serving food.

All kitchen staff at our Centers have this certification, as well as others who are willing to step in and assist when needed. By earning this certification, our staff members have demonstrated their knowledge and commitment to important areas such as food safety, proper food handling, sanitation, preventing foodborne illness, and maintaining a safe environment for those we serve.

At BSRI, providing meals and food-related services is about so much more than simply filling a plate! It is about caring for the health, well-being, and safety of our participants. Having trained and certified staff members is one more way we can demonstrate our commitment to providing the highest level of care to our community.💚🍽️

⭐If you've never dined with us before, we invite you to come gather around a table, socialize, and enjoy a fresh meal with us! If you are 60+, you can enjoy lunch at no cost. If you are 50-59, you may have lunch for just $5. Monetary contributions are not required, but greatly appreciated & allow us to continue the services & programs provided. Do you know what's better than a sweet treat? TWO! Participants at the Brunswick Center at Shallotte got to enjoy two extra-sweet treats this week!

First, they celebrated National Banana Split Day with a delicious trip down memory lane. Participants created their own banana splits with all the classic toppings—strawberry sauce, pineapple, nuts, chocolate, whipped cream, and of course, a cherry on top! 🍓🍫🍒

For some, it had been more than 20 years since they had enjoyed a banana split. Seeing the smiles on their faces and hearing the memories that came along with every bite made the day extra special!

The second treat was an outing to Chick-fil-A in Shallotte, where everyone enjoyed lunch, laughter, fellowship, and one of their favorite games—BINGO!🎉

☀️We’re harvesting good vibes and sunshine here!☀️

The Waccamaw-Ash Center’s participant-led Garden Club has really grown! 🌱
The garden bed was fully constructed by our talented participants, and first assembled in June. Since then, participants have worked to maintain a beautiful garden daily throughout the months, which is now home to tomatoes, dill, and various kinds of peppers, as well as flowers. 🍅 Any and all participants are welcome to join, and if you’re lucky maybe you’ll be able to reap some of the fruit of our labor! 😉🌷
