🌞 Connecticut Summer EBT (SUN Bucks) Are Coming Soon! 🌞
School is letting out, which means summer grocery budgets are about to kick in. Here is a quick breakdown of what you need to know about the upcoming CT Summer EBT benefits for school-aged kids:
💰 The Benefit: Eligible families will receive a one-time lump sum of $120 per qualified child to help cover groceries while school is out.
📅 When to Expect It: Funds have already started to be distributed.
💳 How You’ll Get It:
Already have an EBT or P-EBT card? The $120 will automatically drop onto your existing card. CHECK YOUR BALANCE, some funds have been issued.
New to the program? A new Summer EBT card will be mailed directly to your home.
🔍 Who Qualifies?
Automatic Enrollment: Families already receiving SNAP, TFA, or HUSKY A (at/below 185% FPL), as well as children in foster care or experiencing homelessness, are automatically enrolled. No paperwork needed!
Need to Apply? If your child’s school participates in the National School Lunch Program, but your household doesn't receive the benefits above, you can apply directly based on income (under 185% of the Federal Poverty Level).
🍓 What it Covers: Just like standard SNAP, you can use these funds for fresh fruits, veggies, meats, dairy, breads, and cereals.
