One of the highlights of visiting the organization or business that has held a fundraiser for us, is getting to meet and talk with the people who have spent much time, much energy, much dedication to helping us in the mission to fight breast cancer.
Listening to the “why” they held the fundraiser means so much to us at Seymour Pink!
Everyone has a story! Getting the chance to visit with them and listen to their story brings so much more meaning to not only the donation they present us, but the “why” they held the fundraiser.
Such was the case this past Thursday when we met with the team at Miranda Home Inspectors/Pillar to Post! They had a goal to raise $1000 and as you can see from the amount on the check, they did it!
Their excitement was through the roof ( no pun intended) and it was contagious! As Anne and I were leaving and talking outside, we were just so humbled by their commitment to help us, help others in need.
In the past, they have been sponsors of our different events. This year they wanted to hold a fundraiser, not just to raise money but to raise awareness and along the way a whole bunch of fun, laughs and maybe a few sore muscles from the Skate- a-thon that they held in Waterbury.
It was just awesome. Some of our board members, no name mentioned, participated in the actual skating while the rest of us made great cheerleaders, photographers, and spectators that were laughing ….a lot.
It was a fundraiser that raised money and fun!
We value our partnership with Miranda Home Inspectors/Pillar To Post! Our time together on Thursday morning was proof!
To Amanda, Melissa, Marsha and Bridget the main organizer of the skate a thon, THANK YOU for making us feel so special and for validating the work our community does in the FIGHT against breast cancer!
