New SNAP Benefits Guidelines Released

Starting Oct. 1, new eligibility rules and updated benefit amounts will take effect for the estimated 37 million Americans receiving SNAP assistance.

Catholic Charities, in partnership with the Oconee County Public Library and Our Daily Bread, will provide the opportunity for folks to have access to a free shower. Towel and soap will be provided!

Call OCPL Community Resource Associate, Kerry Leeper Brock, at 864-364-5702, if you have questions about this event or it you would be interested in volunteering for future Mobile Clean of Heart shower events.

Join the Oconee County Sheriff's Office for our next FREE Community Cook at the Long Creek Community Club. We’ll be serving up Philly Cheese Steaks, chips, and a drink while enjoying an evening of conversation and fellowship with our friends and neighbors in the Long Creek community.

A special thank you to the Long Creek Fire Department and Long Creek Community Club for hosting us, and to the Oconee Sheriff's Foundation and Isaiah 40:31 Foundation for their generous support in helping make this event possible.

These Community Cooks give us an opportunity to meet our citizens outside of calls for service and everyday law enforcement activities, build relationships, and strengthen the trust between our Sheriff's Office and the communities we are privileged to serve.

Free vision screening at the Westminster library on August 27th

Free vision screening provided by the Salem Lions Club. Those who do not pass the screening will be provided a referral to an area eye doctor for further screening and one pair of glasses, if needed, provided by the Salem Lions Club. All ages welcome.

Spanish interpretation will be available.
