Spring After Spring
Directed by Jon Chiang

Three Chinese Canadian sisters all defied their mother’s wishes and became accomplished dancers. Each Chinese New Year, they reunite to lead Vancouver’s Chinatown Parade. As they come together, they must confront their own fractured identities and decide if their mother's legacy means continuing the parade.

When the last Filipino community center in Ketchikan, Alaska, becomes just a memory, a 50-year-old Filipina who spent her life resisting her heritage travels to the Philippines to rediscover her roots, preserving her community’s disappearing culture, and teaching indigenous Filipino dances.

InterIm CDA is excited to be a community co-presenter for the 14th Annual Seattle Asian American Film Festival (SAAFF)! We invite you to join us as we co-present the showing of the Opening Night: Spring After Spring, with Bridging Our Stories program.

🎥This special opening night program features films that celebrate culture, heritage, community, and legacy. From Ketchikan to Vancouver and back home here in Seattle, celebrate the community vanguards keeping our arts and cultural heritage alive.

This past Saturday, our InterIm CDA Walk for Rice team, Rice Not Ice! had great fun enjoying the surprise sunshine, the entertainment, the spirit of community, and the beautiful waterfront walk with hundreds of community members and many pups 😊, all for a great cause –the ACRS Food Bank. We’re grateful to the ACRS Food Bank for providing the culturally appropriate food staples that so many low income CID residents rely on. These images illustrate the work of Rapid Rehousing program housing case managers Evanna Peng and Natalie Nguyen. They are putting together housing move-in kits for families transitioning from homelessness to stable housing, which we provide when funding allows. These household essential needs kits typically include fundamental household items such as bedding, towels, basic cookware, and cleaning supplies to help establish a new home.

We’re incredibly grateful to the amazing volunteers from Liberty Mutual’s annual “Serve with Liberty” initiative for spending time with us at the Danny Woo Community Garden on May 4th! 🌸🌞🌱

On top of the hard work in mulching, garden clean-up, and helping beautify our space; their efficiency, teamwork, and dedication make such a meaningful difference and continue to strengthen our garden year after year.

Because of their commitment, we’re able to keep this space thriving for our community; as a place where culture, connection, and sustainability grow alongside each other. These efforts help ensure that the garden remains welcoming, vibrant, and accessible to all who rely on it.

Thank you all for showing up with such care and purpose. We truly appreciate your continued partnership and the impact you help us create. We look forward to serving with liberty again, together!
