To our beloved Somos Seattle familia,
Looking back on every game of Lotería, every unforgettable Pride Reception, every Resource Fair bringing our people together, and every moment of Latinx LGBTQ+ orgullo y alegría, our hearts are overflowing. What started as a simple dream grew into a vibrant, powerful community because of you, your trust, your energy, and your unconditional support over the years. Gracias de todo corazón.
After much reflection, our board has made the heavy decision to dissolve Somos Seattle. As life evolves, our board capacity has changed, and we can no longer maintain the organization in the way nuestra comunidad deserves. While this chapter is closing, the spirit, strength, and love we’ve built together will never fade.
Because of this transition, Latinx Pride 2026 is canceled. We know how much this yearly gathering means to all of us, and this was one of the hardest parts of our decision. But while Somos Seattle is stepping back, the heartbeat of our movement stays strong. The work continues, and we hold deep hope for what future years, quién sabe, tal vez, 2027 might bring as new seeds are planted.
To honor the mission we’ve carried, all remaining funds will be donated to allied organizations in our region doing crucial, value-aligned work. La lucha y el amor siguen.
