In 2024, Entre Hermanos was selected, for one of the projects, as the Collaborative Partner for the Centers for AIDS Research (CFAR) Adelante Research Capacity Program along with Dr. Jane Lee as the Scholar/PI and Dr. Susan Graham as the CFAR Mentor.

Together we form part of the Cohort V. As one of the three-member Adelante teams who conducted two-year mentored and community-based research projects that focused on reducing HIV-related health disparities among Hispanic and/or Latino populations in the United States, we created - Developing An Online Curriculum To Enhance Peer Training Capacity To Support HIV Prevention And Care For Latino Sexual Minority Men.

This past August, Joel Aguirre, Jose Vazquez and Dr. Lee attended the closing of CFAR Adelante Cohort V in Atlanta, GA, where we presented the findings of the project. We also shared how the project supported the work Entre Hermanos continue doing for the HIV prevention within the LGBTQ+ Latine communities.

HIV prevention and care is one of the mail pillars of Entre Hermanos and a reason of our creation 35 years ago. We thank CFAR Adelante, Dr. Lee and Dr. Graham for trusting Entre Hermanos with such important work towards HIV-related work. Our collaborative work creates a greater impact to the communities we serve.

En 2024, Entre Hermanos fue seleccionado —para uno de los proyectos— como socio colaborador del programa *Adelante Research Capacity* de los Centros de Investigación sobre el SIDA (CFAR), junto con la Dra. Jane Lee como investigadora principal y la Dra. Susan Graham como mentora del CFAR.

Juntes formamos parte de la Cohort V. Como uno de los equipos de tres miembros del programa Adelante que llevaron a cabo proyectos de investigación por dos años —basados en la comunidad y con mentoría— centrados en reducir las disparidades de salud relacionadas con el VIH entre las poblaciones hispanas y/o latines de los Estados Unidos, desarrollamos el proyecto: "Creación de un plan de estudios en línea para mejorar la capacidad de capacitación entre grupos y apoyar la prevención y atención del VIH para hombres latinos pertenecientes a minorías sexuales".

El pasado mes de agosto, Joel Aguirre, Jose Vazquez y la Dra. Lee asistieron a la clausura de la Cohort V del programa CFAR Adelante en Atlanta, Georgia, donde presentamos los resultados del proyecto. Asimismo, compartimos cómo esta iniciativa respaldó la labor que Entre Hermanos continúa realizando en materia de prevención del VIH dentro de las comunidades LGBTQ+ latinas.

La prevención y la atención del VIH son uno de los pilares fundamentales de Entre Hermanos y la razón de nuestra creación hace 35 años. Agradecemos a CFAR Adelante, a la Dr. Lee y a la Dr. Graham por confiar a Entre Hermanos una labor tan importante en el ámbito del VIH. Nuestra colaboración genera un mayor impacto en las comunidades a las que servimos.

Las elecciones generales son el 3 de noviembre. Villa Comunitaria, Entre Hermanos, El Centro de la Raza, y Para Los Niños de Highline, junto a King County Elections le invitan a un Encuentro Comunitario para conversar sobre el proceso electoral, actualizar su información de votante y registrarse para votar.

Participarán Julie Wise, directora de Elecciones del Condado de King; Estela Ortega, directora ejecutiva de El Centro de la Raza; y Maribel Pastor, gerente de comunicaciones de Villa Comunitaria. Traiga sus preguntas y hágalas directamente a quien dirige las elecciones en nuestro condado.
