Do you notice something different in the picture?
It’s the new sign!
As shared last year, Lake City Collective was one of two community organizations that traveled to Denver with City staff to represent Seattle in the national All-America Award contest.

After our team received the prestigious award, LCC advocated for a sign to be installed as you enter Seattle at our beloved community of Little Brook.

This is more than a sign; it’s a symbol of the contributions that you, I, and all of us make through honest, hard work to our city and region.
For LCC also means perseverance, teamwork, and the classic underdog story, our story.

Thanks again to those of you who made this historic sign possible.

Seattle, an All-America City!

Installation: Seattle Department of Transportation
Seattle Team: Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, Seattle Office of Sustainability & Environment, Seattle Public Utilities, Seattle City Light, DVYC Duwamish River Community Coalition
Event host: National Civic League All-America City Awards

There are community places and moments that give us Hope. That is the case of two amazing hubs created by equally incredible organizations: and

Recently, we visited the Skyway Resource Center, a community-owned and operated hub that opened in May last year.

Today, a small delegation from the Collective attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the White Center HUB to celebrate with them and feel inspired. HUB stands for Hope, Unity, and Belonging, a beautiful acronym that we all need today.

Congratulations to our sister organizations on your milestones; you’re an example for other frontline community organizations to follow.

Before forming The Collective we participated for several years (since 2017!) in the Shoreline Arts Festival organized by the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council, now ShoreLake Arts.
This Saturday we return with this great organization at their Holiday Arts Market.
Our group of artisans who are forming a co-op, La Cooperativa del Colectivo, will be showcasing their textile art.
Come check out their beautiful art, support local artists and get ready for the holidays!

Thanks to our volunteer photographer for the wonderful pictures!

Celebrating Día de Mu***os at the Collective.

Muchas gracias a las mamás voluntarias por su dedicación para elaborar esta hermosa ofrenda en nuestro centro. Iluminando el camino para la visita de nuestros seres queridos.

Thanks so much to our volunteer moms for their dedication to set up this beautiful ofrenda (altar) in our center. Shining the path for our loved ones’ visit.

Check out our newest street mural at the Little Brook Plaza!
Flores de México - Celebrating the contributions of the Mesoamerican cultures (Mexico and Central America) through their native flowers - Celebrando las contribuciones de las culturas Mesoamericanas (México y Centroamérica) a través de sus flores nativas.

Featured: Cactus, Dahlia, Marigold, Sunflower, with their original names in Náhuatl (the language of the Mexicas, and still spoken by 1.7 million people!).
Also, Nochebuena, the traditional Christmas flower from Mexico.

Thank you, for your contributions to this project, including the new Plaza amenities, and to all of our volunteer young artists for your artistic skills.
