Want to brush up on your public speaking skills?
Or does the mere thought of addressing an audience make your heart race?
No matter your comfort level, “Speak Easy: A Toastmaster's Course to Fearless Communications” can help.
The seven-week series of online classes is offered by Notable Northgaters, a long-standing Toastmasters club based in north Seattle. Classes will be on Wednesdays, from 5:45 to 7 p.m. Pacific Time, from Jan. 14 to Feb. 25.
The $120 cost includes a nine-month membership in Toastmasters International through September 2026, so participants can continue their learning and development.
In Speakeasy, attendees will learn from experienced toastmasters and each other how to:
• Choose a topic and prepare a speech.
• Identify and deliver a purposeful message.
• Speak spontaneously with confidence.
• Give and receive feedback on speeches.
• Use body language, word choice and vocal variety.
• Control fear.
After listening to educational presentations, participants will practice new skills by giving short speeches, evaluating other speeches and taking on meeting roles.
Because classes are conducted over interactive Zoom, participants can attend from the comfort of their own homes. Sessions will be recorded.
Notable Northgaters has been helping people reach their public speaking and leadership goals since its formation more than 37 years ago. The club offers a supportive environment for beginners, whether they’re international students hoping to improve their English or business professionals who need to buff up their presentations.
“I've had the pleasure of seeing people transform in just weeks,” said Class Coordinator Ann Schulz. “They gain new confidence and skills that help their communications at work, at home and in their communities.”
